Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, is as hopeful as ever about his client’s freedom.

The rapper’s legal representative is beaming with hope about the likelihood of him coming home sooner than the projected date, which is about three years away.

Diddy was found guilty earlier this month on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution across state lines after a lengthy trial that spanned months in the New York federal court.

Agnifilo expressed his thoughts on his client’s chance at freedom before 2028 when he bumped into the paparazzi in New York City today. According to the lawyer, his gut feeling that Diddy has spent less than 3 years in court remains very strong.

He bolstered his optimism with the assurance that Diddy would display enviable traits as an inmate, impress the Bureau of Prisons, and secure his freedom earlier than usual. The rapper has been locked up since last September and has reportedly been unable to spend quality time with his family and his mother.

TMZ reported that Agnifilo was beyond relieved that the rapper did not receive a life sentence at trial, and that if three years is still on the table for him, he would make the most of it.

As reported by The Blast, Charlucci Finney, a close friend of the rapper, previously claimed that his safety could not be guaranteed in custody. According to him, he received reports that the rapper woke up to an unpleasant situation of a knife being pressed against his neck.

Finney explained that the fellow inmate made a dangerous move to threaten the rapper with a sharp blade, but he managed to make it out unscathed.

He stressed that Diddy was in a very sensitive terrain due to the nature of his case and how quickly inmates are prone to take the law into their own hands towards those convicted of sex-related crimes.

Diddy’s lawyer during his trial, Brian Steel, also told the court a similar story of a fellow inmate threatening Diddy with a shiv, but was ultimately stopped by a guard. That inmate reportedly planned the attack to upgrade his status and reputation among inmates in the facility.

The 55-year-old did not hesitate to appeal the sentence, which was handed down weeks earlier, alongside his request to serve the term in New Jersey. His legal team, including Alexandra A.E. Shapiro and Agnifilo, swung into action to lobby for a reversal of the verdict.

Agnifilo had told reporters before the appeal filing that Diddy’s case had formed a firm base for appeal due to the nature of the sentencing. According to Agnifilo, Judge Arun Subramanian, who passed the judgment, was under a heavy influence of bias and interference in the jury process.

Agnifilo insisted that Subramanian essentially acted like the 13th member of the 12-member jury as the trial progressed. Agitation from Diddy’s camp also noted that the jury could not convict Diddy on the sex trafficking and racketeering counts because he was not guilty.

When 2028 comes knocking and Diddy completes his sentencing, he will then focus on fulfilling his post-prison conditions to reinforce his accountability and reintegration into society.

As reported by The Blast, Diddy will reportedly be mandated to participate in an outpatient treatment scheme for substance use and mental health crisis.

In addition to this, he must also stick to his given prescription drugs as advised by a medical practitioner. Diddy is also expected to complete a domestic violence intervention program in relation to his violent conduct towards his ex, Cassie, in a hotel hallway in 2016.

The “Coming Home” rapper will also make himself available for routine searches, avoid any contact with his victims, and permanently stay away from owning or purchasing any weapon.

The entertainer’s family did not receive his sentencing in good spirits. During the verdict hearing, his older kids reportedly tried their best to convince the judge that their father deserved to be set free.

His twin girls allegedly broke down in court, insisting that their father still had important roles to play in their lives. They were convinced that their father was a changed man, and while he is not perfect, they assured the judge that he would learn from his experience and become an even better person.

As for his youngest child, Love, her encounter with Diddy was emotionally difficult. The rapper, who was behind bars at MDC Brooklyn, reportedly became upset when his daughter told him how much she missed him and asked when he would return home.

The rapper could not provide a straightforward answer and instead confirmed that he would be away for a considerable period.

Will Marc Agnifilo’s prophecy manifest soon enough? Time will tell!
