The royal family is once again at the center of public attention, and this time the spotlight falls on Princess Beatrice.
Following her father, Prince Andrew, stepping away from his title as Duke of York, Beatrice appears to cling to the York name, even though it is a designation she technically no longer uses.
Andrew’s troubles began when his connections to Jeffrey Epstein were exposed, followed by more serious allegations of sexual assault from Virginia Giuffre.
Princess Beatrice Reportedly Spotted With A Name Tag Carrying An Outdated Title

On October 28, Beatrice attended the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she was photographed wearing a name tag that identified her with an old version of her royal title.
A closer look at her lanyard reveals the name tag "LionTree," and she is addressed as "H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of York." While "H.R.H." correctly represents her status as a royal, the suffix "of York" is no longer accurate.
Although royal children traditionally inherit elements of their parents' titles, Beatrice's formal name changed following her 2020 marriage to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
According to the official royal family website, she is now known as "Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi." Similarly, her sister is listed as "Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank,” per PEOPLE Magazine.
Prince Andrew Bows Down From His Designations In Final Shocking Move

The discovery of the error on Beatrice's name tag followed Andrew's announcement that he would be relinquishing his remaining royal titles.
In his statement, which The Blast reported, the disgraced royal said that, after consulting with King Charles and other senior officials, he had agreed to step back from his positions. He also maintained his innocence in connection with the sexual assault allegations against him.
In light of this, Andrew has ceased to be the Duke of York, his most prominent and defining designation. He has also relinquished his position in the Order of the Garter, Britain's oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry, and given up his rank as Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, a personal honor once granted by Queen Elizabeth II.
Did Prince Andrew's Decision to Step Away from His Titles Affect His Daughters?

While Prince Andrew gave up his honors, his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, remain unaffected.
However, their mother, Sarah Ferguson, also dropped her designation. Formerly known as the Duchess of York, Sarah will now revert to using her maiden name.
Despite their divorce in 1996, Sarah continued to hold the title and has maintained a close relationship with Andrew.
The pair have also continued living together at Royal Lodge, their longtime shared residence, but they have been asked to leave.
Princess Beatrice Haunted By Prince Andrew's Scandalous Past

Although Prince Andrew's departure from his roles does not directly involve his daughters, his association with the famous sexual offender continues to raise questions about whether his legacy is indirectly influencing them.
According to The Blast, last month, Beatrice stepped down from her trustee role at the charity Outward Bound after six years of service. The organization has a deep connection to her late grandfather, Prince Philip, who served as its patron for 65 years before passing the role to Andrew.
Beatrice's resignation has since fueled speculation that Outward Bound may be seeking to distance itself from the York family amid the ongoing fallout from Prince Andrew's scandal.
Princess Beatrice's Position In The Family Put On The Line Amid Scandal

Meanwhile, Beatrice's royal status may face uncertainty following recent reports that Prince William allegedly threatened to reconsider it unless she forces her dad to move out of the Royal Lodge.
As The Blast covered, journalist Emily Maitlis hinted that the Prince of Wales met with the sisters, allegedly telling them, “You need to get your father to move out of Royal Lodge, or we'll have to start reconsidering the status of your own titles.”
Maitlis added that the situation naturally places Andrew in a difficult position as a father trying to protect both his daughters and their privileges.
While Andrew is willing to vacate the residence, sources say he laid down conditions, requesting that he and his ex-wife be provided with alternative royal homes.
