Gene Simmons is pushing back after his crash, saying headlines painted it as far worse than it was.

This is not the first time the rocker's health or safety has made waves. Back in 2023, he reportedly paused a concert to address a medical issue but recovered quickly and finished the show.

Gene Simmons was involved in a minor accident when his SUV hit a parked car along the Pacific Coast Highway, but he walked away with only a few scrapes and plenty of attitude.

Simmons is setting the record straight about his recent Malibu crash, and he is not holding back. The star was spotted on Wednesday while trying to be incognito, casually getting behind the wheel just weeks after the car incident.

When approached by paparazzi, Simmons downplayed the incident, slamming reports that exaggerated it. In his words, "Everything is fine. Media is fake news, you know that."

He insisted that it was nothing more than a "fender-bender" and joked that the media had turned it into a full-blown disaster story. TMZ reports that the icon made it clear he had already moved on by urging reporters to focus on more meaningful topics, stating:

"Everybody thinks the world ended, but there are much more important things than whether I crashed my car. Everything's fine."

The KISS Legend's Accident Sparks Concern From Wife And Bandmate

Simmons might be brushing off his recent Malibu car wreck, but his inner circle is not nearly as relaxed about it. His wife, Shannon Tweed, told the outlet she is not thrilled about him getting back behind the wheel, though it looks like she did not win that fight.

Tweed revealed that before the accident, Simmons had started taking a new medication, and because he rarely drinks water, the mix left him severely dehydrated. That dehydration reportedly caused him to pass out while driving, sending his SUV crashing into a parked truck.

Paul Stanley, his longtime KISS bandmate and close friend, called Simmons "lucky to be alive," emphasizing how serious the situation could have been. Video obtained of the crash aftermath shows Simmons' vehicle with significant front-end damage.

The Singer's Crash Spurs Surge In Legal Calls

The 76-year-old's recent accident did not just make headlines; it sparked a sudden rise in calls to law firms across the country.

The Blast learned that attorneys have been getting flooded with inquiries from people wanting to know their rights after car accidents, especially those involving well-known figures. Lawyers say the uptick began right after news of Simmons' crash broke.

"The first hour after a crash sets everything in motion. If you move safely, call 911, and document the scene, you've already protected half your case before an insurance adjuster even calls," Don Marcari, Senior Managing Partner at Marcari, Russotto, Spencer & Balaban stated.

After the incident, Simmons was reported to be on the mend, resting at home surrounded by family. His wife also told NBC Los Angeles that he was "doing fine."

The Blast learned that this is not the first time Simmons' dislike for water has gotten him into trouble. Back in 2023, he had a health scare mid-concert when dehydration forced him to pause the show.

Bandmate Stanley fueled concern by telling their audience, "We know how much you love Gene, and he's obviously sick. We're gonna have to stop to take care of him, because we love him, right?"

Simmons later cleared things up on X, saying dehydration caused his collapse but insisting he recovered quickly after hydrating. "We got back on stage in 5 minutes & finished the show," he wrote.

Simmons seems to have nine lives, seeing as he walked away from his crash with barely a scratch, while the co-founder of KISS, Ace Frehley, was not as fortunate.

The original lead guitarist died at 74 after suffering a severe fall that caused a brain bleed. The Blast reported that Frehley had been hospitalized for weeks and placed on life support following the accident, but his condition never improved.

His family released a heartfelt statement announcing his passing and asked for privacy during this difficult time. Sources close to the situation shared that doctors had exhausted all treatment options before his loved ones made the painful decision to remove him from the ventilator.

Gene Simmons is clearly reminding everyone that no minor fender-bender is enough to slow down a rock legend.
