Sydney Sweeney has received support from Sharon Stone following backlash over her recent ad campaign.
Back in July, Sweeney faced criticism for starring in an American Eagle jeans campaign that some claimed carried racial undertones and hinted at eugenics.
Now, Sharon Stone, who attended Variety's Power of Women LA event on Wednesday alongside Sydney Sweeney, has defended her, saying, "It's really fine" for the actress to use "every bit of hotness" she has.
Sharon Stone Says Sydney Sweeney And Other Beautiful Women Should Always Use Their Looks

During Variety's Power of Women LA event on Wednesday, Sharon Stone stood by Sydney Sweeney against her critics of the controversial American Eagle ad campaign.
Stone was at the event as one of the presenters and was assigned to honor Sweeney.
She told the attendees that there was nothing wrong with Sweeney and other beautiful women using their looks for whatever purpose they deem fit.
"It's okay to use what mama gave you," Stone remarked, per the Daily Mail. "It's really fine."
She added, "It's hard to be hot, and I think we all know that. It's really okay to use every bit of hotness you have - right here, right now - and go for whatever that is."
Stone then doubled down on her stance by asking women to bravely maximize "their own certain kind of hotness."
"Everybody has their own certain kind of hotness, their own certain thing, and you're supposed to go for that," she continued. "Because who are you not to be beautiful? You know, who you are isn't an accident."
Sydney Sweeney Faced Backlash Over Her American Eagle Ad Campaign

Since the ad campaign went viral in July, Sweeney has received backlash from numerous quarters about its supposed racial undertones and alleged promotion of white supremacy.
The backlash, at some point, transformed into physical confrontation, as Sweeney was heckled during the premiere of her crime thriller "Americana."
The unidentified heckler shouted at Sweeney to stop the ad, but the actress didn't offer any response to the individual.
On her part, Sweeney has chosen not to directly address the controversy and shut down questions about it from Vanity Fair while promoting her upcoming film "Christy" at the Toronto Film Festival.
"I am there to support my movie and the people involved in making it, and I'm not there to talk about jeans," Sweeney told the outlet. "The movie's about Christy, and that's what I'll be there to talk about."
The Actress Says She Plays A 'Lot Of Very Divisive Characters'

Sweeney recently hinted at why seeing her in such a controversial ad and something similar in the future shouldn't shock anyone.
"I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don't," the actress told Variety in a recent interview. "So when people think, 'Ah, she's a sex symbol,' or 'She's leaning into that,' I'm like, 'No, I just feel good and I'm doing it for myself and I feel strong.'"
The actress also shared her desire for her actions to inspire other women about their talents and looks.
She added, "And I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good because you shouldn't have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room," says Sweeney, hinting at the jeans uproar.

More inspiring words for women came from Sweeney when she took the stage at Variety's Power of Women event.
Dressed in a see-through outfit that had tongues wagging, the "Euphoria" star talked about being "underestimated" in the industry and being defined by people "before you've had a chance to define yourself."
"Every one of us has our own fight," the actress further remarked. "Strength doesn't look loud sometimes, and sometimes it's about getting up again and again, no matter who is watching."
Sweeney then called on women to keep striving to achieve their goals regardless of whatever obstacles they may face or the number of times they fail.
"You don't have to wait for permission to be brave, you don't have to shrink yourself to make others comfortable, and if you fall, you can just get right back up," she continued.
The Actress's Stunning Outfit At The Event Went Viral

Sweeney's bold and passionate speech was only the second most talked-about thing about her at the Power of Women event, as her stunning dress left fans doing double takes.
The actress left nothing to the imagination as she sizzled in a floor-length gown, elegantly tailored to fit her body.
The dress, made of a shimmering, metallic silver fabric, featured a gathered detail at Sweeney's midsection and a scooped neck that drew attention to the delicate hollow at her décolleté. At the back, it had an intricate ruching down the center seam, which held the gown together beautifully.
Sweeney then opted for a short, smooth bob cut that perfectly framed her face, paired with her light makeup. To complete the look, the actress accessorized with fine rings and a pair of dangling diamond earrings.
