"I'm so tired of this," a user wrote on Reddit. "If Huda spoke up the first time about the racism [that] so many of her fans perpetuated, maybe we wouldn't be here. There's so much hate in people's hearts. Genuinely, what's funny about it?"

Carthen Shares Passionate Response To Viral Video

Carthen, who placed second on season 7 of "Love Island," shared a passionate response to the viral clip, expressing her disappointment with the language used and calling it "never acceptable."

"I will not let this moment derail my purpose of uplifting my community. I’m standing firm in who I am and using this as an opportunity to call for real accountability and awareness. We all have a role in building a culture where speaking to one another with respect is the standard, and where speaking against hate speech is the bare minimum," she continued.

In her response, Carthen also seemed to throw shade at Mustafa, writing that the unfortunate event would likely "result in surface level apologies that fade in a few days" before asking her followers to channel their anger toward a bigger purpose.

Mustafa Issues Apology To Carthen, Calls Viral Moment 'Disheartening'

After some time passed, Mustafa released a statement, explaining that she needed to sit with the moment to "fully take accountability for my actions."

"It was a nervous, uncomfortable reaction that I recognize was inappropriate. I want to be clear that I do not condone or tolerate anyone who uses such language, and I strongly encourage the individual responsible to reflect deeply on their words and the harm they’ve caused," she continued.

As she finished, Mustafa revealed that she planned to make a "personal donation to the NAACP" before encouraging her followers to do the same.

This isn't the first time a "Love Island" cast member has come under fire for displaying problematic behavior.

According to a previous report from The Blast, original islander Yulissa Escobar was removed from the show after clips of her using the N-word on a podcast resurfaced.

She acknowledged the clips once returning to social media, explaining that she used the slur "ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it."

She continued, "I wasn’t trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn’t excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It’s tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use."
