Whenever a high-profile celebrity finds himself in hot water over sexual assault accusations or any other major offense most other celebrities distance themselves from the issue. At the end of the day though, you can’t help but wonder what people know or don’t know. We’re seeing a perfect example play out between Seth Rogen and James Franco. The two were BFFs for years. Now that Franco’s reputation is pretty much in shambles Seth has thrown him under the bus!
Film director Quentin Tarantino had a long-standing working relationship with Harvey Weinstein. After years of severe allegations piling up against the former film producer, Tarantino is serving up some major inside information!
How Close Was Tarantino To Weinstein?
Joe Rogan has a way to get plenty of celebrities to share some of their deep dark secrets with him. That may be because he gives them joints and booze on his show. Just ask Elon Musk how well his interview went! Anyway, in the latest version of the podcast, Tarantino joined Rogan.
You know that what the film director was about to say was going to get really interesting when he called Weinstein a “f—– up father figure,”. Tarantino went on to say what everyone outside of Hollywood pretty much thinks happened with the whole Weinstein incident.
Everyone Knew What Was Going On With Weinstein
Tarantino went on to detail that everyone in Weinstein’s orbit knew what was going on. He was even honest enough to admit to his own mistakes about the way that he looked at things. Tarantino mentioned that when he saw the unwanted sexual advancements that Weinstein made he thought,
“I chalked it up to a ’50s-’60s era image of a boss chasing a secretary around the desk,” he then admitted that his way of viewing the situation was terribly wrong saying, “”As if that’s OK. That’s the egg on my face right now.”
Wishing He Could Have Done More
Continuing along the lines of the come to Jesus experience that Tarantino seemed to be having with Rogan the director said what many people ultimately say “after the fact”. Talking about how he wished that he had done more to confront Weinstein on his behavior. He told Rogan,
“I wish I had talked to him. I wish I had sat him down and gone, ‘Harvey, you can’t do this, you’re gonna f— up everything,”
The issue that many people are having with Tarantino now is that he’s taken so long to speak up. When allegations against Weinstein first surfaced Tarantino denied having a clue that these things were going on!
In 2017 Tarantino Denied Knowing Directly About Weinstein’s Behavior
When allegations first surfaced Tarantino told the New York Times that he was only aware of the allegations against Weinstein through his then-girlfriend Mira Sorvino. He apparently blatantly lied at the time as he told the paper,
“I couldn’t believe he would do that so openly. I was like, ‘Really? Really?’ But the thing I thought then, at the time, was that he was particularly hung up on Mira.”
In reality, Weinstein produced several of Tarantino’s films through the years. That was probably the main reason he acted so “shocked” when he spoke to the paper in 2017. Now it’s a little easier to throw shade at Weinstein!
