The actors became close after starring on the 80s ABC sitcom as love interests, but their friendship is said to have made Loughlin's ex-husband, Mossimo Giannulli, uneasy.

"They've always had incredible chemistry," said an insider about the duo who became friends after meeting on the set of "Full House."
The source continued, "But Mossimo never believed it was just acting. He thought John's charm didn't stop when the cameras did."
At times, Giannulli's frustration with Stamos reportedly surfaced in public, though it never escalated into a physical confrontation. These tense moments were said to occur during events where the trio appeared as guests.
"Lori would light up when John walked in," added the insider. "Mossimo would shut down. He saw John as competition — not Uncle Jesse."

The actress and fashion designer were among 50 people accused of paying bribes to get their children admitted into prestigious universities.
Ultimately, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison, while Giannulli received a five-month sentence. Both were also ordered to pay substantial fines and complete hours of community service.
After her release, Stamos appeared on Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, where he defended Loughlin, saying she had shown genuine remorse for her role in the scandal and emphasizing that she was not the mastermind behind it.
However, according to the source, Giannulli viewed Stamos's continued loyalty and public support for Loughlin not as "friendship" but as "crossing a line."

With Loughlin and Giannulli's marriage on the rocks, Stamos appears to have dropped all restraint as he openly blasted Giannulli during a recent appearance on the "Good Guys" podcast.
He called his friend's ex-husband a "terrible narcissist" and blamed him for the couple's involvement in the college admissions bribery scandal, a claim Stamos had previously avoided making during his earlier "Armchair Expert" interview.
The actor also shared how heartbroken he was over his friend's failed marriage while doubling down on his criticism of Giannulli.
"I'm just heartbroken for her right now," Stamos said about his "Full House" co-star. "I've really tried to be there for her during this time."
"It's heartbreaking," he added, per The Blast. "She was married 27, 28 years. Her kids are good girls. She's beautiful inside and out. But I told her, 'Every bit of negativity or hardship you've been through has been connected to this guy.'"

Stamos then seemed to allude to the situation on the "Good Guys" podcast when he was asked whether Giannulli was "not a very good guy" and if he may have been unfaithful to Loughlin during their marriage.
"I'm taking the Fifth on that, but whatever he did busted her up to the core," the actor shared. "She put up with a lot over the years with this guy. She is an angel, and she always made things better."
"When you have a wife like that and a family like that, how do you bust that up?" he added.

Loughlin and Gianulli's marital issues had been ongoing long before their split made headlines, and according to Page Six, a source revealed that the actress tried everything she could to save the marriage.
This included going to her husband's favorite strip club to ask the dancers questions about his activities and behavior. Loughlin allegedly did this to figure out what might be going wrong with their marriage.
"For years, Mossimo went to this club called Skin on Robertson [Boulevard] in LA," a family friend said.
They added, "It was years ago, but Lori ended up going down there to talk to the women and find out what he was doing … she actually sat down with the strippers."
