TLC is wrapping up their popular reality show Counting On. The show, a spinoff of the wildly popular 19 Kids And Counting is currently dealing with a family scandal. The network confirmed the show’s cancellation in a statement to Deadline. “TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On. TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.” The situation they are referring to is Josh Duggar, 33 arrest and pending charges related to child pornography.
Josh Ruins Things Again… Allegedly That Is
The spinoff was meant to follow the older Duggar children who were moving on to live their own married lives. In a statement about the show, TLC wanted to “follow the next generation of Duggar’s as they celebrate some of life’s milestone moments, including the realities of growing up and raising their own families.” The show premiered in 2015 and will end after 11 seasons. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the eldest Duggar sibling has caused a horrific scandal. Ahead of the premiere of Counting On, it was revealed that Duggar was accused of molesting five of his minor female siblings.
Deja-Vu Anyone?

Due to the reveal, 19 Kids And Counting, the channel’s most popular series at the time was canceled. Attempting to not condemn the other Duggar siblings Counting On was pushed forward offering all of the redeeming qualities of its predecessor. Sisters Jill, 25, and Jessa, 24, even revealed that they were two of the five victims. Sadly, Duggar has done it again. After a 2019 raid of his workplace by Homeland Security, he was arrested bringing, once again, negative attention to the network and the family.
Anna Has To Step Up

In late April, Duggar pleads not guilty to two counts of possessing and receiving child pornography. He was taken into custody and later posted bail. The father of five is currently awaiting trial which was is pushed back from July 6 to November 30, 2021. Considering the charges against him, Duggar is only allowed supervised visits with his own children. The contact is “unlimited” but his wife, Anna Duggar must be present at all times. This must be considerably hard for the stay-at-home mom who is already busy keeping an eye on her actual children.
The Siblings Finally Speak Out

Not many of the Duggar siblings have had much to say about the arrest and cancellation but recently sister Jinger Vuolo shared her thoughts on Instagram. She thanked the network for welcoming her family for all these years and agrees with their decision to end the show. “We wholeheartedly agree with TLC’s decision not to renew ‘Counting On’ and are excited for the next chapter in our lives.” She went on to thank her fans for their endless support and shared that she and her husband Jeremy Vuolo will be continuing their “creative journey” in Los Angeles.

The post has quickly amassed almost 65,000 likes. It’s safe to say that many of the reality star’s fans agree with the decision as well. However, some fans are curious about how the Duggar will make money to take care of all those kids they have including one who made it their mission to point out that they “keep popping out [children]”. A quick view of the Duggar sibling’s accounts will tell you that that they are not just posting on social media for fun anymore. They have endorsed everything from pillows and plant seeds, all the way to gel nail polish. Their good!
