Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently shared some controversial opinions, and they're not what some might expect. While appearing on a livestream with N3on, Arenas explained why some NBA stars are supposedly less "faithful" during the season, leaving many social media users stunned.
Gilbert Arenas Gets Candid About Why Some NBA Stars Are Likely To Cheat During The Season

Arenas has never been one to bite his tongue, but some feel he may have taken it too far this time.
While speaking with N3on on his livestream, the former Washington Wizards player opened up about why some men in the league are less "faithful" during the season.
"So when the season starts, now I'm flying to Miami. Now I'm flying to Atlanta. Now I'm flying to Los Angeles, New York, right? Houston," he began. "Coming in [at] 2, 3 in the morning. Where am I going? Strip club."
Arenas explained that during the season, he's partying and drinking in every city they go to. However, during the summer months, "We ain't doing none of that, 'cause our girlfriends and our family's here."
"So, I can't be like, 'Yo, I'm about to go to Miami real quick,'" he added.
Arenas Says He Lies To His Wife Often

Elsewhere in the stream, Arenas, a 3x NBA All-Star, said players in the league are "more faithful" during the off-season.
He later added, "Who cares? I lie to my wife 11, 12 lies a day. That's my job to lie. Her job is to catch the lie," sparking outrage among social media users.
"Mind you ... this is a grown a-- man," someone wrote on Instagram, to which another added, "Like, God really left us with these type of men in this world?"
"Why do these men insist on embarrassing their wives, partners, etc?" another posted, prompting someone else to say Arenas displays "little boy energy."
Arenas Has Opened Up About Being Dishonest Before

However, this wouldn't be the first time Arenas has spoken candidly about being dishonest.
In 2024, the NBA alum shared details about the time he switched a $400,000 diamond ring from his ex-wife for a $10,000 replica.
During a VladTV interview, Arenas explained that he initially bought his then-fiancée a pricey engagement ring, but an explosive argument shortly after led him to reassess the gift.
"I'm like, 'That was a f-cking waste of money,'" he remembered thinking to himself. "'I want my ring back.' So, I was like, 'How do I get my ring back? I just got to get her back.' But when she comes back, I'ma have a fake one, and I can switch it any time.'"
According to Arenas, he didn't actually switch the rings until years after he bought the replica. "I put that one in the safety deposit and then she just had the fake one," he said.
During their divorce and legal battles, Arenas admitted to being a "troll" and posting a picture of himself wearing the real ring online to cause chaos, prompting his ex to sue him for grand theft.
Her attempts to reclaim the $400,000 ring and then some fell short, though, with the court siding with Arenas, who later used the ring to pay his attorneys' fees.
Other NBA Stars Feel Differently About Their Relationships

One NBA star who clearly feels differently about relationships, though, is Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
The 4x NBA champion recently appeared on his wife's podcast, according to a previous report from The Blast, and got real about how he couldn't imagine life without her.
"I know I don't want to be alone, that's for d-mn sure," James said. "If I have to fight, crawl, scratch, bite, whatever to keep mine. I got to keep it. I gotta do what I gotta do. I don't want to be alone. I'm [from] an only child, single-parent household."
After gushing about how "amazing" the mother of three children is, James added, "The next time I'm alone, I'll be up underneath."
James Calls Out His NBA Teammates' Girlfriends

During another portion of the podcast, James took a moment to slam some of today's women, stating that he believes they've created unrealistic expectations.
He wasted no time calling them "cutthroat, ruthless a-- b-tches," adding, "Listen, I'm in the locker rooms. It's a lot of women out here who have now kinda flipped the script."
James added, "Some homies out here that's trying to be good, too, and trying to figure it out. Now they're looking in the mirror saying, 'D-mn, what did I do wrong?' Homies, it ain't you."
