Expert Warns About Kanye West Going Months Without Seeing His Kids, As Daughter Sports 'Fake Tattoos'

Kim Kardashian recently opened up about her co-parenting struggles and past marital issues with her ex-husband, Kanye West, revealing that he hasn't seen their children in months.

Now, an expert has weighed in on the rapper's continued absence from his kids' lives, noting that it would have long-term effects on them due to "minimal paternal contact."

The expert's remarks about Kanye West's parenting flaws come as his daughter, North West, continues to go viral for her looks, which recently featured fake piercings and fake tattoos.

During an appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Kardashian admitted to host Alexandra Cooper that "It's probably been a couple months since" her kids have heard from their father, West.

The business mogul further noted that her family manages the situation "really well" and their kids "love their life and their routine and their schedule."

Reacting to this revelation, Child Development and Parenting Specialist Dr. Yana Segal Sirotkin told Hello! Magazine, about the unhealthy effect of West's random appearances on his children's lives.

Dr. Sirotkin stressed that the couple's "children have been experiencing minimal paternal contact combined with highly publicized parental disputes, which warrants serious developmental concerns."

According to the expert, young children struggle to develop "secure attachment and form healthy internal working models for future relationships" when they don't regularly see their father.

"This inconsistent presence creates confusion and may contribute to feelings of personal rejection ('If I were more lovable, Dad would visit more often') that undermine self-esteem and identity development," Dr. Sirotkin added.

Dr. Sirotkin further explained that West and Kardashian's children's situation is further worsened by the fact that their parents tend to air their grievances publicly for the world to see.

She noted that this would inadvertently create "additional developmental challenges" for the young children, due to potential harassment and teasing from their peers.

"This in turn can potentially increase feelings of shame, embarrassment, and loss of control over their own life story," the specialist noted.

Dr. Sirotkin also stressed that kids who witness their parents attack each other publicly might think such behavior is acceptable and that "public opinion matters more than their own well-being."

"This robs them of the opportunity to learn how to set appropriate boundaries, how to form healthy relationships and communicate in constructive manner even under the most challenging circumstances," the expert added, per Hello!

Shortly after the parenting expert expressed concern about West and Kardashian's co-parenting relationship, their daughter, North, caused a stir with her bold new look seen in recent TikTok posts.

The 12-year-old sported several fake tattoos on her face, including a star beneath her right eye and another resembling script writing across her cheek.

"Fake piercings and fake tatts for life," North captioned one of the clips, which has since garnered over 5 million views.

Aside from the tattoos, North also had part of her right forearm and fingers painted with intricate patterns that covered nearly every inch of her skin.

She added a faux nose ring and dark grillz while styling her hair into a couple of blue ponytails.

To complete the look, she accessorized with several bold pieces of jewelry, including rings, bracelets, and a shiny wristwatch.

Most of the clips she shared appeared to have been taken on a private jet that transported her and her friends, who were dressed in a similar style, to a concert.

At the concert, the group spent some time backstage, where they posed for pictures with the artist.

On social media, some netizens who saw the viral clips were quick to criticize North's edgy makeover.

Kardashian has since reacted to the uproar surrounding her daughter's latest transformation, branding it "such a non-issue" in the comment section of a TikTok post about the look.

Over the summer, North West also faced backlash after appearing alongside her mother while wearing a corset paired with a mini skirt.

Although Kardashian didn't address the criticism at the time, her recent appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast seemed to indirectly acknowledge the controversy.

"It's really hard and it's really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things," the reality TV star told host Alex Cooper, per the Daily Mail. "But then my daughter tries to wear it, and then I'm like 'okay, we're never wearing that again.' Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world."

She added, "She's usually a girl that dresses like a tomboy most of the time, and she wanted to try something that her friends were wearing and went to the same place that they went to... and it's just like, okay, wait, maybe you can't wear that, you know?"

On the podcast, Kardashian also admitted that she hasn't got motherhood all figured out and that it's still a learning experience for her and her daughter.

"As a mum, you're kind of learning at the same time," she shared. "But what I do know is my baby's such a good girl and such a sweet girl.

She added, "The things that she has experienced, where she might have been outspoken or did something, she learns from that."

According to the reality star, she has no intention of stifling her daughter's creativity, referencing the adolescent's decision to dye her hair blue.

She went on to urge people not to be judgmental, noting that raising children is challenging, especially for single mothers.
