In a candid reflection during the season seven premiere of The Kardashians, Khloé Kardashian spoke about an era that once glorified thinness at all costs.

She revealed that she was once fat-shamed by her former trainer, Barry Jay, the very person whose event she was heading to in the scene being shown in the episode.

"Remember when Barry called me fat?" Khloé had asked her sister Kourtney over the phone as she sat stuck in traffic on her way to the location, per the Daily Mail.

She added, "This was years and years ago, and we were running, and I stopped. And he was like, 'That's what you're fat!' and I was like, 'That's why I'm here!"'

In a piece-to-camera interview, Khloé further reflected on the moment, saying that she was "fatter" than she is now. Still, at the time, she felt it was a "weird way to encourage people," although she didn't confront the fitness trainer about his remarks.

The Reality TV Star Says Fat Shaming Was Allowed At The Time

Despite the sting of the comment, Khloé appears to harbor no hard feelings toward Barry, who co-owns a well-known fitness studio chain.

Proof of that seemed to be the fact that his studio appeared in the short-lived spinoff "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," which aired from 2011 to 2012.

Also, Khloé's belief that it was simply a "different time," when comments like that were fairly common and rarely questioned, could also be a factor.

"This was, like, 2006. Biggest Loser and diet pills," Khloé reflected further on the experience.

She added, "You were allowed to call people fat. But we never spoke after that. That's literally the whole exchange."

Years later, while filming "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Khloé began struggling with body image issues fueled by constant public scrutiny and comparisons.

"When the show first started, I was very secure, very secure," she revealed during the show's reunion in 2021.

"And then during the first couple seasons, I became insecure because of the public opinions of myself. Then I had, I think, a good run of being secure, and then I think recently I've become insecure again. So I guess it just goes, you know, up and down," she added.

Over the years, Khloé has experienced fluctuations in her weight, with her pregnancies playing a major role in some of the changes.

These days, the TV reality star appears noticeably slimmer, a transformation she attributes to maintaining a clean diet and a steady exercise regimen.

"I would, let's say, cut out all sodas. Little by little, I would cut things out," Khloé once revealed, per the Daily Mail.

"I would do that for a week and then cut out one other thing because I realized, I did every diet under the sun when I was younger," she added.

In addition to her lifestyle changes, Khloé has also undergone cosmetic procedures, similar to those of many other high-profile celebrities.

One of these treatments included Botox, which she said she chose to help "reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles" on her face as well as to "soften an indent" on her cheek that resulted from a previous tumor removal.

The mother of two has also received filler and Sculptra, which she described as part of her long-term beauty routine.

Most recently, she underwent laser treatments on her face and neck at the newly opened 7Q Spa in Calabasas, California, per the Daily Mail.

She raved about it in a post on her Insta Stories earlier in the month, revealing she was quite thrilled about getting the treatment.
