Loughlin's marriage to Giannulli had been facing troubles long before their estrangement became public.

According to Page Six, the "Full House" star took extraordinary measures to keep their marriage together for years, even going so far as to visit his favorite strip club to quiz the dancers about his activities.

She carried out the unusual intervention to understand and potentially address the issues plaguing their relationship, which the source explained had been ongoing long before their eventual legal troubles stemming from the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal.

Since news surfaced that the estranged couple was going their separate ways, Loughlin's close pals have weighed in on their union, claiming that Giannulli was quite the partner to be with.

On Monday, her longtime "Full House" co-star John Stamos appeared on the "Good Guys" podcast, where he claimed the actress had "put up with a lot over the years," calling the businessman a "terrible narcissist."

"Whatever negativity or hardships that [Loughlin's] been through in [her] life is connected to this guy," he said, per Page Six. "I will never talk to him again."

Just this week, Stamos shared that he "tried to be there" for Loughlin as she went through imprisonment and their marital troubles, adding that he wasn't "going to debate whether she had much to do with it or not."

A source who worked with Loughlin around the time of her legal troubles due to the college admissions scandal said that Stamos's comment is "really telling."

They pointed out that there must have been financial pressure in the former couple's relationship that worsened things for them.

"'Full House' and Hallmark [money] will get you only so far," the source said of Loughlin's TV career. "There would have been a pressure …. to keep up with a particular lifestyle."

In line with running his G/Fore fashion brand, Giannulli is understood to also love cosmetic pampering, gambling, and golfing, with his "pride and joy" said to be playing the sport at the celebrity favorite Bel Air Country Club.

However, the source added that he displayed unbecoming behavior at the club and allegedly ruffled the feathers of other famous members, including one who tried to have him thrown out after an offensive comment.

Due to his alleged behavior, a friend of Loughlin accused him of "using" the 61-year-old actress before they both served short jail terms for the Varsity college admission scandal.

"Mossimo had used Lori for years," the source told Page Six. "She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse."

Loughlin's marriage to Giannulli reportedly reached its breaking point after the actress found "incriminating" texts and emails on his phone.

"Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages," a Loughlin source told Page Six. "Mossimo had used Lori for years. She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse."

Loughlin's rep has since confirmed that the former couple is no longer living together, telling People Magazine that they are "taking a break" from their marriage, but noting that "there are no legal proceedings at this time."

If their divorce goes through, she may be forced to leave the marriage without a dime, as reports suggest she signed a prenup in which Giannulli "insisted" they counted their assets as separate property.

It remains unclear if the legal document was reviewed after then. Still, a divorce attorney has shared that if it's enforceable, Loughlin would have to adhere to it even if there was infidelity on Giannulli's part.
