Months after ending her relationship with Harbour, Allen appears to ask a rhetorical question through her newly released album, “West End Girl.”

According to Daily Mail, the record follows a turbulent period in Allen’s life, marked by the breakdown of her marriage last December after she reportedly accused Harbour of multiple affairs, including a three-year relationship with a younger costume designer.

In one of the songs, she bluntly sings, “I can't trust anything that comes out of his mouth” and repeatedly belts out, “Who the f-ck is Madeline?”* Fans have been buzzing ever since, comparing the mysterious “Madeline” to Beyoncé’s 2016 lyric “Becky with the good hair” from her album, “Lemonade.”

Many are curious about who “Madeline” might be, while others view it as Allen’s version of a modern-day “Jolene.” Her lyrics further read:

“So I read your text, and now I regret it. I can’t get my head round how you've been playing tennis. If it was just sex I wouldn’t be jealous. You won't play with me and who the f-ck is Madeline?”

The song ends hauntingly with, “Da, da-da, da-da, who's Madeline? (Who's Madeline?)” before closing with the line, “No, but who is Madeline, actually?” Leaving fans really invested.

Allen has always been candid about her stance on love, and she recently made it clear that an open marriage is not for her.

During an interview, she revealed she never considered the idea with either of her ex-husbands, Sam Cooper or Harbour.

When asked about how open relationships are becoming increasingly normalized, she admitted that younger people seem to embrace the concept more easily. However, she added:

“But it’s not something I ever thought about when I was younger or going into either one of my marriages.”

She explained that her disinterest in open marriage stems from her attachment style, shaped by growing up in an unstable home. As a result, she now craves emotional security and wants to be the center of attention in her relationships.

It appears many things have been spiraling out of control, tearing the singer apart, as she made another emotional revelation in July. The Blast reported that Allen accused one of her exes of using manipulative tactics to break her down.

“I think that it was like a form of bullying and abuse... it was a horrible one,” she said.

She explained that the alleged tactic was meant to make her feel “self-conscious” and “sh-tty about herself,” ultimately giving her partner a distorted sense of control.

Although she didn’t name the ex involved, Allen’s romantic history includes fellow stars like Zayn Malik, Rupert Grint, and art dealer Jay Jopling.
