Whoopi Goldberg has opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing how many pounds she lost after using Mounjaro following a back injury from running on wet grass.
Steroids for pain once pushed the famous actress's weight to 270 pounds, but she now feels healthier, despite joking that it makes her feel "cold as hell" with "no a-s."
Known for her oversized clothes, Whoopi Goldberg, who has survived several health challenges, urged people to stop judging the physical appearance of others.
Whoopi Goldberg Reveals Painful Injury That Led To Her Weight Loss Journey And Mounjaro Use

The legendary actress has revealed exactly how much weight she has lost and the surprising event that led her to start taking the weight loss drug Mounjaro.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Goldberg explained that the decision came after a painful back injury.
"I had to do those shots because I got sciatica," she said, revealing that she had fractured the vertebrae between her bones after "doing something I told people specifically not to do, which was to run on wet grass."
The 68-year-old described the fall humorously, recalling, "I was running like Fred Flintstone. And I slipped, went up in the air, did a flip, and came back to the ground."
Unaware of how severe the injury was, Goldberg kept moving and filming, which only made things worse.
While shooting "Till," the 2022 historical drama about educator and activist Mamie Till, she was prescribed steroids to manage the pain.
The treatment, however, caused her weight to spike, reaching nearly 270 pounds before she began her health transformation, with Goldberg telling the news outlet she has lost "about 180" pounds.
The Actress Jokes About Weight Loss Side Effects And Quitting Vaping: 'It's Cold As Hell, I Have No A-s!'

Even after losing a significant amount of weight, Goldberg says many people don't notice the change because of her love for oversized clothing.
"My clothes are always big, so no one can ever tell what's going on under there," she joked.
The actress and talk show host first revealed in 2024 that she was using the weight loss drug Mounjaro and has since defended her decision, urging others to stop judging people based on appearance.
"People need to stop judging everybody," she said firmly. While she feels healthier, Goldberg admits the change hasn't been all glamorous. Laughing about one of the unexpected side effects, she quipped, "It's cold as hell out here. I have no a-s!"
Whoopi Goldberg Admits Her Friends Are Concerned About Her Due To Her Weight Loss

Goldberg shared that some friends have begun expressing concern for her amid her weight loss, with one even telling her, "You need to eat something."
But the actress clarified that her reduced appetite isn't intentional; she's just never been that into food.
Instead, she admitted her real vice was vaping, something she's since quit entirely.
"Food never did it for me, but all kinds of other things did, and now I'm paying for it," she explained. "I don't do anything now. It's terrible. I used to have a great vaping life, no more vaping, no more nothing. So, just straight as an arrow."
The Actress Reflects On Health Battles And Cannabis Advocacy: 'Happy To Be Alive'

Back in 2016, Goldberg, a longtime advocate for cannabis, proudly launched her own line of marijuana-infused products designed to help women ease menstrual pain.
At the time, she explained that the line was meant for people who "don't want to get high high," but simply wanted a natural, soothing way to relieve cramps and relax.
Goldberg's interest in pain relief stems from personal experience. Over the years, the EGOT-winning star has battled several serious health challenges.
She once relied on a walker while recovering from sciatica, describing it as her "best friend" during that difficult period. The condition, caused by a bulging disc pressing on her sciatic nerve, left her in severe pain that radiated down her leg.
Her struggles didn't end there. In 2019, Goldberg was hospitalized with double pneumonia and a near-fatal case of sepsis, an experience she later said made her realize how fragile life can be.
By 2023, she shared with fans that she was simply "happy to be alive," calling survival after years of health scares a "privilege."
Whoopi Goldberg Blasts President Trump Over White House Demolition Plans

During the recent episode of "The View," Goldberg and her co-hosts also tackled the latest controversy surrounding the president's reported plans to demolish parts of the White House to make room for a new ballroom, and, as usual, Goldberg didn't mince words.
After a clip aired showing construction and bulldozing at the iconic Washington, D.C. residence, the "Sisters Act" actress and moderator made her opinion crystal clear.
"Okay," she began, per Parade, addressing the president directly. "That is not your building. You don't own that building."
Drawing a sharp comparison, Goldberg added, "That would be like me going over to Trump Tower and saying I'm going to build a disco. I mean, come on!" Emphasizing her point, Goldberg concluded passionately, before reiterating, "You don't own that building! That is the people's building!"
