The singer-songwriter, born Jason Bradley DeFord, became emotional as he addressed the biggest mistake of his life. He was full of regret, revealing that he nearly ruined his marriage because of bad influences.

Jelly Roll has been married to Bunnie XO since 2016; however, they briefly separated in 2018. The couple renewed their vows in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2023, the same place they tied the knot.

During Tuesday's episode of the "Human School" podcast, Jelly Roll opened up about the time he nearly destroyed his marriage to Bunnie XO. He confessed that he had cheated on his wife despite being madly in love with her.

The "Son of a Sinner" hitmaker described the affair as the worst moment in his life because he failed to act right. He deeply regretted his actions, stressing that he never meant to hurt Bunnie XO. Unfortunately, he was negatively impacted by the people around him.

Jelly Roll, per TMZ, explained that he had an affair because the men he was hanging out with were engaged in infidelities. Their actions made cheating seem like the norm, and he hopped on the trend thanks to their negative influence and his substance abuse issues.

Jelly Roll did not make light of his actions, noting that he understood how wrong he had been. However, cheating ultimately became a silver lining in his relationship with Bunnie XO, as their love grew stronger in the aftermath.

Additionally, nearly losing his wife became the wakeup call Jelly Roll needed to get his life in order. Although he did not delve deeply into the affair, Bunnie XO hinted at the affair in a February 2023 TikTok post, writing:

"Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back - would have put us on this wild journey called life."

"We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground," Bunnie XO concluded.

According to E! News, Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO met in August 2015 while he was performing at the Las Vegas Country Saloon. At the time, the singer wasn't famous and lived in a van, yet his wife claimed their souls connected when she saw him on stage.

Despite the immediate chemistry, the lovebirds did not become a couple because Bunnie XO had been in a toxic relationship. They eventually reconnected in October 2015 and remained in contact throughout Jelly Roll's prison stint.

Their relationship finally turned romantic in July 2016 when Jelly Roll returned to Las Vegas. Bunnie XO recalled they had a steamy night together, but the entertainer surprised her by asking about her goals and expressing his willingness to support her.

Last month, The Blast reported that Bunnie XO had come under fire after she shared a video from her Italian getaway. The post sparked backlash because she was seen holding a bottle of wine despite being on a sobriety journey.

Fans accused Bunnie XO of "falling off the wagon," with many expressing disappointment over her actions. The media personality addressed the criticisms on her "Dumb Blonde" podcast, explaining that everyone's sobriety journey was different.

According to Bunnie XO, she did not embark on a sobriety journey because of an alcohol addiction. Instead, she struggled with substance abuse, such as cocaine and Xanax. She noted that she never had issues with drinking and rarely enjoys a glass or two amid her sobriety.

While Bunnie XO faced criticism for her drinking, Jelly Roll received praise for his weight loss transformation. The Blast covered the story in September, reporting that the singer had flaunted the all-black ensemble he wore to the Grace for the World event.

The live music event was held at the Vatican on Saturday, September 13, with Jelly Roll rocking a Louis Vuitton fit for his performance. He revealed he donned the designer brand in an Instagram post, sharing two pictures of his form-fitting ensemble.

"I can fit in Louis Vuitton now. Pray for my bank account," he captioned the post. Fans and celebrities alike flooded the comments with their love, praising Jelly Roll's dedication to losing weight. He previously announced that he had lost an incredible 200 pounds in 2025.
