Two years after the death of Suzanne Somers, her widower, Alan Hamel, is still keeping her legacy alive—this time by creating an “AI Twin” of her.

The 88-year-old spoke extensively about how the idea came to be and how it represents a continuation of the bond Somers shared with her family and loved ones.

This development comes months after Hamel publicly confirmed his new relationship with actress Joanna Cassidy.

The memories of Somers still linger as Hamel opened up about the existence of an AI project he and the late actress had planned decades ago.

“Obviously, Suzanne was greatly loved, not only by her family, but by millions of people. One of the projects that we have coming up is a really interesting project, the Suzanne AI Twin,” Hamel told PEOPLE Magazine.

Hamel shared a demo of the project earlier this year at a conference, calling it “perfect,” and admitting the clone answered questions exactly like the "Three's Company" actress.

"When you look at the finished one next to the real Suzanne, you can't tell the difference. It's amazing," he gushed. "I've been with Suzanne for 55 years, so I know what her face looks like, and when I just look at the two of them side by side, I really can't tell which one is the real and which one is the AI."

Detailing the effort that went into the innovation, Hamel emphasized that the AI was trained using Somers’ 27 books and all her interviews, making it fully capable of representing her personality and insights.

Whose Idea Was The Suzanne Somers AI Innovation?

Hamel revealed that the idea of an AI Twin was something he and Somers had been discussing since the 1980s. According to him, futurist Ray Kurzweil, often referred to as “the smartest man on earth,” first explained the concept of artificial intelligence to them.

Following that conversation, Hamel said Somers became deeply interested in the idea, and he is now simply fulfilling one of her long-held wishes.

“So it was Suzanne's idea. And she said, ‘I think we should do that. I think it'll be very interesting and we'll provide a service to my fans and to people who have been reading my books who really want and need information about their health," Hamel shared.

Although Hamel initially wondered how their family would react to such an innovation, his concerns were quickly eased. Their loved ones embraced the idea, viewing it as a creative way to stay connected to people they cared about and a touching tribute to Somers’ memory.

With his family’s support secured, Hamel turned his attention to how this innovation would serve Somers’ devoted fans. He believes the AI will be an extraordinary experience for those who have deeply missed the “Hollywood Wives” star.

“Once I'm satisfied that we have everything, then we'll put her on SuzanneSomers.com, and we'll invite all her fans and all our customers to come and talk to her. They can come and just hang out with her. They can ask her any questions they want. She'll be available 24/7, and I think it'll be really wonderful,” Hamel revealed.

He also assured that all questions, especially those related to health, will be accurately answered based on the insights from doctors Somers had interviewed during her lifetime.

Although Hamel continues to preserve his late wife's legacy, the Canadian TV personality has started a new chapter of love.

Months before announcing the Somers' AI, Hamel sparked attention when he was spotted with her “Hollywood Wives” co-star, Cassidy.

According to The Blast, the duo was seen walking arm-in-arm along the oceanfront at the Malibu Beach Inn on Carbon Beach, appearing cozy and relaxed.

They even matched outfits with white caps, fueling further speculation about their budding romance. The alleged couple reportedly enjoyed a lobster lunch at Broad Beach Oyster Company before leaving together in a black SUV.

Following their public outing, the “Razzle Dazzle” star openly confirmed his relationship with Cassidy, confessing that Somers’ dying wish inspired his new romance.

“When it was clear that Suzanne was not going to recover in the final days of her life on this planet, before she crossed over, she said to me, ‘I don't want you to mope around after I'm gone,’” he said in an interview, per The Blast.

The 88-year-old also noted that Somers wouldn't mind him dating her former co-star and instead would be happy with his choice because both women didn't participate in "Hollywood BS."
