In a jab at the No Kings protest over the weekend, President Donald Trump may have crossed a line with Kenny Loggins, and now, the singer is firing back.
On Saturday, October 18, an estimated seven million people gathered nationwide for the rally, with celebrities such as Robert De Niro, Bill Nye, and John Cusack lending their voices to the movement.
That same day, Trump posted a video aimed at the protesters featuring Loggins' song "Danger Zone." The "Footloose" hitmaker has now condemned the move, making it clear he doesn't approve of his music being tied to Trump's message.
Kenny Loggins Blasts Donald Trump's 'Unauthorized Use' Of His Song

In solidarity with the protest, Loggins voiced his displeasure over the U.S. leader's actions in a lengthy statement, calling it an "unauthorized use" of his work.
"Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied, and I request that my recording on this video is removed immediately," Loggins said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The singer explained why he doesn't want his music in the contentious video Trump posted, noting that no one wants to be linked "with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us."
Loggins further acknowledged that there are many forces trying to pull the country apart, but emphasized the need for unity. He concluded his remark, stating his hopes that music serves as a way of uniting the nation.

Loggins' reaction comes days after Trump posted an AI-generated video of himself set to Loggins' hit single from the 1986 movie while carrying out a demeaning act on protestors.
As seen in the clip, which went viral, the president wore a crown while flying a fighter jet with the phrase "King Trump" inscribed on it. The plane then dumped liquid brown material, appearing to be feces, on top of crowds carrying American flags and signs.
However, Loggins' request for the removal of his song was met with more sarcasm from the White House. When Entertainment Weekly reached out to representatives for comments regarding the 1980s icon's request, an official sent an email with a "Top Gun" meme.
The blurry image showed the actors from the movie in what looked like an airport terminal, with the words "I feel the need for speed" written across it.
Robert De Niro Urged Americans Not To Give Up In The Fight Against The Trump Administration

While Loggins wants Trump to take his music down, other stars, including De Niro, have since spoken in support of the rally. De Niro took to imploring citizens to stand up against Trump's regime.
During an interview on October 19, as reported by The Blast, the actor from "The Godfather Part II" raised concerns about the country's leadership, pointing out that history was repeating itself, referencing the original No King Protest 250 years ago.
De Niro noted that after Americans fought for their independence, Trump now appears to be threatening the democracy they built, and the people are once again pushing back.
Bill Nye Joined Warned That Donald Trump's Regime May End Democracy

Following De Niro's public comments on the rally, science educator Bill Nye echoed similar views about the protest, highlighting the country's gradual decline in democratic values.
He argued that the leader, alongside his allies, has collectively weakened systems of fairness, justice, and civil rights, describing it as "a slow-motion erosion of democracy," according to The Blast.
Nye cautioned that the nation may be on the verge of losing its identity as a democratic republic before blasting Trump for his hostility towards the press.
John Cusack Slammed Donald Trump's Crackdown On Immigration

John Cusack also joined the growing list of celebrities criticizing Trump, directing his outrage at the administration's recent deployment of Border Patrol and ICE agents to major cities.
As The Blast reported, the "High Fidelity" star went on a fiery rant, telling the president to "go to hell," before condemning what he called the use of "masked goons" for immigration enforcement operations.
He explained his stance, saying it's upsetting to see a "sort of fascist authoritarian... cosplay that the right wing has been fooling around with for so long, seeing it devolve into the real thing is predictable, but deeply saddening."
