Reba McEntire Is Basking in The Euphoria Of Having It All At 70

The country music icon recently reflected on her blessings in a candid interview, discussing how happy she is in her seventies compared to her prime. Naturally, her fiancé, Rex Linn, is one of the reasons behind her radiant smile.

Reba McEntire has been married twice, welcoming a son with her second ex-husband. She began her romance with Rex Linn in 2020 and got engaged last December. However, they did not confirm the news until September 2025.

"I think I'm happier now than I've ever been in my life," McEntire declared in a new interview. "It's amazing. It's wonderful being 70 and getting to do what I get to do at the level I want to do it," she added, acknowledging her fiancé's role in her euphoria.

McEntire noted that she had never been loved by a man like Linn, gushing about his tender heart and fantastic qualities. "I just love him with all my heart. He's a good guy. Real bashful though," she told PEOPLE in her cover story.

Besides having a fulfilling love life, the "One Promise Too Late" singer enjoys working on her sitcom series "Happy's Place" thanks to Linn. The couple co-starred on the show, with McEntire noting that they always had a "blast" together.

McEntire added that she enjoyed working with her fiancé because it was a new experience. "Getting to work with Rex, drive to work with Rex, and do the show, the rehearsals, drive home, talk about it, rehearse together — that's what's really special for me. I've not had that before," she confessed.

Although Linn plays a significant role in McEntire's happiness at 70, he isn't the only reason for her joy. She explained that she found contentment in her work as a coach on "The Voice," as an actress, and as a singer, claiming she loves this chapter of her life.

On that note, retirement hasn't crossed McEntire's mind. "I don't know when. It could be in 20 years. I think I'll know when it's time," she said about the possibility of quitting showbiz. She added that she was having fun working and would probably "slow down" rather than retire.

McEntire's cover story comes a month after she confirmed her engagement to Linn. The Blast covered the story, reporting that she and the actor had attended the 2025 Emmy Awards and paused for a red carpet interview.

When the reporter referred to Linn as McEntire's fiancé, she confirmed the news with a blush and raved about how happy they were to be at the event. Following her reaction, a source claimed Linn had proposed months ago.

"It happened a few months ago, and they are very happy," the source shared. However, in her recent interview, McEntire revealed that Linn had popped the big question last December, contrary to claims that their engagement happened sometime in 2025.

News of McEntire's engagement shouldn't have come as a surprise to fans, as she revealed her willingness to marry Linn early last year. The Blast shared that the singer confessed in an interview that she wouldn't mind walking down the aisle a third time.

She explained that Linn had never been married before, and she wouldn't mind allowing him to experience marriage through her. Although McEntire noted that she didn't "have much faith in being bound by a piece of paper or ring," she declared that she was "committed to Rex."

McEntire was just 21 when she tied the knot for the first time to a man ten years her senior. She married Charlie Battles, a steer wrestler, in 1976 while pursuing her career in country music. Her efforts began paying off shortly after her union, but success became her marriage's undoing.

In her 1994 memoir, "Reba: My Story," McEntire confessed that Battles could not handle her successes. According to Nicki Swift, he resented her achievements and tried to get her to slow down amid the height of her fame. Unfortunately for him, McEntire chose her career over their marriage.

The singer's next journey down the aisle occurred in 1989, two years after divorcing Battles. She tied the knot to her manager and collaborator, Narvel Blackstock, with whom she welcomed her son. They appeared to be the perfect couple for 26 years before the shocking end of their union in 2015.
