The largest retail chain in the country is pulling the imitation 'Yeezy' style shoes from its shelves after being hit with a lawsuit by Kanye West.

As you know, we broke the story Kanye filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Courts claiming Walmart was selling a knockoff version of his super famous foam shoes. As of Friday, it appears the store has scrubbed the items from its online store and seems to be acknowledging the similarity between the two products.

At this point, Walmart has not said anything about the situation -- and we are guessing they won't -- considering there is ongoing litigation with this situation, but for the rapper, it's a step in the right direction.

As we reported, Kanye filed a lawsuit against the mega-store claiming its 'imitation' version of the Yeezy's was "unfair competition" and was profiting from the popularity and success of him and his brand. "Walmart’s conduct is harming, and will continue to harm, West and Yeezy, leaving them no choice but (to sue) to stop Walmart’s unfair competition and profiting from the popularity of the success of West and Yeezy,” the lawsuit stated.

Obviously, it appears to be the company taking swift action to mitigate any damages it may have in this case -- but, it is also possible they didn't realize the full extent of the situation. To be clear, Kanye's legal team has a massive uphill battle, as many other online retails sell similar looking shoes.

The other major issue West is having with the company's producing "imitation" shoes is the quality of the product. The 'Jesus Walks' rapper claims most knockoffs are "sub-par" products it affecting his reputation. "Not only are West and Yeezy losing market share for their authentic Yeezy Foam Runner, but also their reputation and the goodwill of the Yeezy brand is being harmed by the association with the Imitation Shoe given its subpar quality, as evidenced by the consumer comments shown from the Walmart website,” the lawsuit said.

Here is an example: Fit is bad and foam broke while wearing. They come off as you step and lean forward. The real ones are so worth it for retail. Don’t buy this garbage.
