Lori Loughlin's marriage to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli has come to an end after 28 years together. Now, it appears she'll leave the union with nothing due to a decades-old prenuptial agreement.

Their split was allegedly caused by a series of "incriminating" texts and emails she found on his phone, as an insider alleged he had "used" her for years.

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli were previously embroiled in a wire fraud scandal, and an insider claims the humiliation from the incident was what "killed" their marriage and tore their family apart.

Loughlin's divorce from Mossimo Giannulli seems to be heading to a contentious financial showdown over a prenup agreement that states she'd get nothing from him in the case of a breakup.

According to TMZ, a source shared that the "Full House" alum signed a prenup when she married Giannulli in 1997, and the legal document stipulated that their assets are separate property, a provision the fashion designer insisted on before tying the knot.

At the time, Giannulli's net worth was north of $100 million. If the 1997 prenup is found to be valid and enforceable, it could prevent Loughlin from claiming any appreciation on that initial $100 million base, as well as the value gained during the entire duration of their marriage.

Reports suggest the couple went their separate ways after the 61-year-old actress found "incriminating" texts and emails on his phone.

"Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages," a Loughlin source told Page Six. "Mossimo had used Lori for years. She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse."

Earlier this month, a source announced that they're calling it quits on their marriage and were "living apart."

"They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time," Loughlin's rep Elizabeth Much said.

However, she reportedly doesn't consider herself single yet despite living separately for months, as insiders say she's waiting to see how it turns out.

The news of the couple's split comes five years after their involvement in the 2019 "Varsity Blues" college admissions scandal, which saw both of them serve prison time.

The feds accused Loughlin and Gianulli of paying $500,000 to college admissions fixer Rick Singer to get their daughter, Olivia Jade, into the University of Southern California rowing team, despite not having any experience in the sport.

They both struck plea deals and confessed to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Loughlin got a two-month jail term while Giannulli got five months.

Reports suggest that Gianulli and Loughlin's marriage was deeply affected by the legal ordeal, with an insider saying the embarrassment "killed" their relationship and tore their family apart.

According to the Daily Mail, sources close to the fashion designer explained that their relationship was fine before the legal scandal that not only broke down their marriage but grossly affected their careers, with Gianulli allegedly placing the brunt of the blame on her.

"Their marriage was very strong before the sh-t hit the fan with the college admissions scandal. That totally derailed it. His sales suffered. She lost Hallmark. They blamed each other, but he blamed her more," the source said.

Another Gianulli source opened up on how his reputation was affected, claiming the "90210" star was the "driving force" behind using the below-the-table method to get their daughters into the prestigious school.

"The entire family was embarrassed, and that was like a huge deal to Mossimo. It felt like he had built all this goodwill, publicly, and it was all gone. They were literally the butt of jokes on late-night TV. There was this perception that they were rich, and the worst kind of rich people, who use their wealth for unfair advantages," the source shared.

Meanwhile, Mossimo recently set tongues wagging when he was spotted with stylist Hannah Harrison, but she was quick to address the speculations, saying they were only doing business together.

"I feel like it was bad timing. I went to the [G/FORE Supply] store not knowing that his separation had been announced," Harrison told Us Weekly. "I was going there to meet him. … He was introducing me to the guys there so I could pull clothes [for Giannulli's brand G/FORE]."
