Earlier this month, one of her dedicated fan pages shared a throwback photo of the rap queen lounging in a red swimsuit. While many fans felt nostalgic, others were quick to revisit her past relationship with rapper Meek Mill and her overall history with men.

The throwback photos, posted by one of Nicki Minaj’s fan pages, date back to her 34th birthday in 2016. She celebrated by vacationing in Turks and Caicos and shared photos from the trip.

In the throwback, Minaj wore the Norma Kamali Women’s Red Marissa Studded Swimsuit. The one-piece had a plunging neckline and deep side cuts that revealed ample sideboob. It also provided minimal coverage on the rear for a cheeky effect.

The standout feature of the swimwear was the row of gold stud embellishments running down its edges for a luxurious finish. Her hair was braided in cornrows, wrapped in an updo. “Everybody wanted these braids,” a fan recalled.

She finished the look with stiletto heel booties, an odd footwear for a beach, but not for the bold Harajuku Barbie. “She looked so amazing here,” another fan admired.

Beneath the fan page’s post, one user commented, “She has poor taste in men,” and got over 10 likes in agreement. Another noted, “Meek left her here lol.”

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill confirmed their relationship in early 2015, but they broke up in 2017, reportedly after a fight during her Turks and Caicos birthday trip in 2016.

Meek Mill allegedly spent more time with his friends rather than with Minaj, which caused tension. He reportedly stormed off the island early, leaving Minaj to celebrate with others present. By 2017, Minaj confirmed their split.

But the drama between them didn’t end there. In 2020, Minaj seemingly accused Mill of domestic violence on Twitter (now X) after he liked a meme mocking her and husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty.

Petty, however, is a registered sex offender. At the age of 16, he was convicted of attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl and served four years as a youthful offender. His past divided fans’ reactions over his marriage to Minaj. Some supported her choice and happiness, while others criticized and expressed concern.

But Minaj has continuously defended her husband against public criticism. The couple share a son, and despite the ongoing scrutiny, they are still together.

On September 24, Nicki Minaj tweeted a date, “3.27.26,” with a CD emoji, announcing the release date of her sixth studio album, "NM6.” The post sent the Barbz into a frenzy. But she broke their hearts on October 15 when she seemingly hinted at the album’s cancellation.

Days later, she confirmed it would indeed arrive on the same date “because of the people who were in attendance at #GagCity,” the Pink Friday 2 tour. Fans were thankful in the comments and anticipated the new music.
