Ashanti In Plunging Swimsuit 'Way Past The Curvy Stage' In Beach Photos

Ashanti has been savagely body-shamed as users react to her latest paparazzi photos. The singer, who welcomed her first child last year, enjoyed time with her one-year-old while in Barbados over the weekend, and it didn't look like she was left alone. Ashanti, 45, had the press all over her, and fans didn't leave her alone, either. Carrying her son in her arms while modeling a tight bathing suit, Ashanti highlighted her curvy figure, looking confident and healthy, but seemingly on the large side for some. Users challenged descriptions of the "Foolish" star flaunting her "enviable curves," with the general consensus being that Ashanti has gotten too big.

The R&B star, who shares son KK with rapper Nelly, was photographed solo in some images, with others showing her tenderly carrying her infant child in her arms. Flaunting her shapely legs and curvaceous waistline, Ashanti opted for spaghetti straps and a medium cut, completing her look with an open printed kaftan.

Ashanti wore her dark locks down with cute braid detailing around the scalp, also pulling a total JLo with her massive hoop earrings. The artist was accompanied by a female pal in some photos.

Fans didn't hold back. "Um, she's way past the curvy stage," one Daily Mail user wrote. Over 260 fans agreed. "Enviable? She is a big woman," another wrote. One fan went all "hmm" as it quoted the outlet's mention of Ashanti's "stunning figure," with a further user replying: "Goodness me! Hasn't she stacked it on!"

That said, some users did defend Ashanti, claiming that a new mom should be left in peace. "She's not "flaunting" anything, she's existing in a bathing suit, which is a perfectly normal attire to wear at the beach, where she is. Leave her alone and stop making all these high school mean girl comments," one fan wrote.

Over on Ashanti's Instagram, where over 8 million are subscribed, fans have been loving the star's post-baby body. This leggy snap even had one user telling Ashanti that her "baby did her good." In the March 2025 photo, she posed in a skintight, striped minidress and high heels while wearing a glowing face of makeup.

Ashanti showed off her massive baby bump in April 2024, posting this photo just a few months before welcoming her first child. Son Kareem Kenkaide was born in July of last year. Ashanti and Nelly now have their own reality series: Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together.
