“Hi everyone, Christina here,” she began. “If you told me a year ago that I’d be on Instagram, I would have said, f-ck off! But here I am, so I’m going to do it my way. Real, raw, honest.”
She explained that the photo, taken by her “lifelong friend @kevingrackle,” was one of her favorites in recent memory. “It was taken in my backyard with the chimes that remind me of my mother and a moon necklace from a dear witchy friend,” she shared, signing off with “–C.”
The post, which has already been liked by Kelly Ripa, was met with immediate love and enthusiasm from friends and fans alike. "The Bachelor" alum Kaitlyn Bristowe commented, “Hell yes,” while Minka Kelly wrote, “Happy to see you here,” and Carmen Electra added, “Excited you’re here.”

Applegate’s social media debut comes as she continues to navigate life with multiple sclerosis, a diagnosis she publicly revealed in 2021. The actress has been candid about the toll the disease has taken on her health, sharing that the physical symptoms became so severe that she decided to pause on-screen acting work.
The "Anchorman" star’s final on-camera role was in the third and final season of Netflix’s "Dead To Me," which wrapped in 2022. Production schedules were adjusted to accommodate her condition, and Applegate’s performance, both vulnerable and powerful, earned critical praise for its emotional honesty.
Though she’s stepping back from on-screen projects, Applegate has expressed interest in continuing voice acting, which would allow her to remain creative while minimizing physical strain.

Applegate isn’t disappearing from the public eye, she’s just shifting how she shares her story. The actress recently confirmed her upcoming memoir, "You With The Sad Eyes," which will chronicle her journey through fame, motherhood, illness, and personal rediscovery.
She began writing the book after stepping away from acting, using the downtime to channel her thoughts and experiences into something meaningful for fans. “It’s deeply personal,” she said of the project, which promises to offer the same mix of humor and honesty that’s defined her career.
Applegate Hospitalized After 'Screaming' In Pain Amid Ongoing MS Battle

In August, the "Dead to Me" star revealed that she had been hospitalized after developing a severe kidney infection that left her “screaming” in pain. The actress shared that the health scare began during a trip to Europe to visit family. “I would feel fine for a couple hours, and then I’d be having to go lay down because my stomach was really bad,” she recalled. When she returned home to California after an 11-hour flight and her symptoms worsened, she went straight to the hospital, and refused to leave until she got answers.
Applegate was soon admitted to a Los Angeles hospital, where the pain intensified. “From my back to my front is in so much pain,” she said. “I’m screaming, and they ordered me an emergency CT at 2:00 in the morning.” Doctors discovered that she had infections in both kidneys, requiring immediate treatment. “So, I’m here because of this kidney infection and I have to have intravenous antibiotics right now,” she shared from the hospital.
