Aaron Rodgers' Fury Over Being Tackled During Celebration Sparks Calls For Him 'To Retire Already'

Aaron Rodgers was visibly frustrated after his teammate accidentally tackled him during a touchdown celebration in the Steelers' 33-31 loss to the Bengals.

Despite the awkward moment, Rodgers threw for 335 yards and four touchdowns. The game also reignited curiosity about his secret marriage to a woman named Brittani, whom he wed privately earlier this year.

Rodgers didn't take kindly to being tackled by one of his own teammates during Thursday night's game.

The 41-year-old Steelers quarterback appeared visibly irritated after offensive lineman Broderick Jones enthusiastically brought him down from behind while celebrating a late touchdown.

The moment occurred in the fourth quarter of Pittsburgh's 33-31 loss to the Bengals, with the Steelers trailing 30-24.

Rodgers had just connected with Pat Freiermuth for a 68-yard touchdown, his fourth of the night and second to the tight end, to briefly give his team a 31-30 lead with just over two minutes left.

As Rodgers celebrated with his trademark jump and fist pump, Jones sprinted up behind him, wrapped his arms around the veteran quarterback's neck, and dragged him to the turf, mimicking the kind of hit usually delivered by an opposing defender.

Rodgers rolled away, quickly got to his feet, shoved the lineman, and exchanged heated words, clearly unimpressed by the overzealous tackle even if it came in the heat of the moment.

The NFL star's behavior quickly drew mixed reactions online, with some fans claiming the 41-year-old's "age was showing."

One person wrote, "Seriously. This dude needs to retire already. Hey Rodgers, you don't get to celebrate a lot. Enjoy it without b-tching."

Another said, "Stupid? Yes. Malicious? No. He was trying to celebrate with his QB and accidentally took it too far. No need for Rodgers to act like a diva."

Despite the mishap, Rodgers put on a strong performance, completing 23 of 34 passes for 335 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions.

However, the Bengals sealed the win with a last-second field goal, handing the Steelers a 33-31 loss that dropped them to 4-2, while Cincinnati improved to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Rodgers remains focused on bouncing back in Week 8 when he faces his former team, the Green Bay Packers, in a highly anticipated Sunday Night Football matchup.

"This is a short week, division opponent, anything can happen," Rodgers said after the game. "Obviously, Joe (Flacco) played really well for them, and (Ja'Marr) Chase and Tee (Higgins) got going for them. This is the NFL. We had a chance to really open up some space, but we're 4-2, still first in division, got a couple home games coming up, back-to-back, another Sunday night opportunity against my former team."

He added: "I'm not going to ride the rollercoaster and I know (Steelers coach) Mike (Tomlin) isn't, and hopefully guys follow suit."

However, the rollercoaster Steelers vs Bengals game also brought Rodgers' mysterious love life back into the spotlight, with fans still puzzled by the whereabouts of his elusive wife.

The four-time MVP stunned fans in June when he revealed that he had secretly tied the knot "a couple of months ago" to a woman known only by her first name, Brittani.

Since then, details about the couple's relationship have remained tightly guarded.

Rodgers has been spotted wearing a black wedding ring, but the pair have never been photographed in public together, and Brittani's presence at any of his games has never been confirmed.

He continued: "How did that work out? I had people leaking my home information, and making up stories, I had people calling the paparazzi, and I had people posting my personal life on the internet. I didn't want that, didn't like any of that."

"Now I'm with someone who's private who doesn't want to be in the public eye, didn't sign up to be in the public eye, doesn't want to be a celebrity. And because I do things in private because I want my personal life to be private, I'm now weird and have the paparazzi stalking me," Rodgers added.
