Kevin Costner has two fewer counts of accusation to lose sleep about!

The actor's efforts to reduce his legal workload bore positive fruit as the court dismissed two out of the ten claims leveled against him by a stuntwoman who had worked with him on a past movie set.

Kevin Costner and Devyn LaBella have gone back and forth in their legal battle following her claims that he directed an unscripted rape scene that made everything very uncomfortable.

Legal documents from the case showed that Costner will not get to face counts of sexual harassment and another alleged violation of the Bane Act, which helps to combat hate crimes.

The actor's lawyer expressed relief at the court granting the "anti-SLAPP motion in part, dismissing two of the plaintiff's claims (including one of her claims for sexual harassment)."

Marty Singer added that while the team was disappointed with the court's decision to allow her to pursue other claims, they are still confident that her case does not stand a chance.

Singer insisted that despite LaBella's outrageous claims, there was no case or simulated rape, sex, or retaliation; it was only a cash grab on her end as she was fully aware of what she was getting into by participating in the scene.

LaBella's lawyers and Costner's legal team have not stopped coming at each other since the battle in court began. Last month, The Blast reported that the stuntwoman's lawyer blasted Costner's team for their nefarious attempt to gaslight LaBella about her experience on set with the actor.

The stuntwoman's team insisted that her version of events was accurate, as she swore under oath to the truth and also provided convincing evidence to support her claims.

The attorney noted that LaBella's story has not skipped a beat since the first time she told it in 2023, emphasizing that she had no reason to lie. Most importantly, production was fully aware of what LaBella had allegedly passed through on set.

LaBella, in her lawsuit, explained that Costner's conduct with her during the unscripted rape scene left a lasting psychological impact. Aside from this crushing emotional weight, the stuntwoman admitted that the incident happened when she was on her period.

She alleged that one of the actors also rested his hands above her vagina between takes, making the experience very miserable.

LaBella noted that she wondered why an intimacy coordinator was absent on set while shooting such a sensitive scene, but her questions were left unanswered. In the text to the set coordinator, LaBella allegedly wrote:

"I wanted to discuss yesterday's abomination when we both have a chance ... I was put in a really wrong position and it's really affected me."

Aside from the sexual harassment scandal, The Blast shared earlier in the month that Costner's alleged violent conduct towards his co-star, Wes Bentley, on the movie set caused a serious setback for everyone involved.

Costner reportedly attempted to physically attack Bentley after he refused to follow directions and decided to act out the scene based on his discretion. Bentley, in his disapproval of Costner's actions, reiterated that he chose to be on set and follow Taylor Sheridan's instructions, not Costner's.

A disgusted Costner felt very insulted by Bentley's remarks, and an insider claimed he chose to express his displeasure with bouts of shouting, shoving, threats, and pushing until they had to separate them.

The confrontation between these two giants fully confirmed they were not exactly comfortable with each other's big egos on set.

A man of many means and methods, Costner’s latest venture is embarking on a treasure hunt in the Caribbean island. A close source to the actor revealed that the media personality discovered gold coins and emeralds in the region.

Most importantly, Costner hoped to profit from his new path by showcasing his discovery on these expeditions to the whole world. The project is still ongoing, as no one has indicated interest in financing the show, but things are looking up.

He had once expressed his interest in discovering treasures during a visit to the Castillo de la Real Fuerza Museum in Havana, Cuba, where he toured its renowned nautical archives alongside archaeologist Alex Mirabel.

Costner and the president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, also established a friendship during the trip, which lasted for a week.
