Kim Kardashian Claps Back At Daughter's Fashion Critics: 'I’m Doing The Best That I Can'

Kim Kardashian is not letting the critics discourage her from her parenting style.

"The Kardashians" star has come to her daughter North West's defense regarding her fashion choices, explaining how she carefully guides her creativity while giving her the space to express herself fully.

Kim Kardashian and her daughter, North West, have been the subject of public scrutiny one too many times due to her bold dress choices, which never fail to cause a stir.

The entrepreneur bared it all during a recent podcast appearance, stating that she is absolutely on her daughter's side when it comes to playing dress up and embracing fashion.

Kardashian explained that, like every other kid, West is learning to embrace her personal style, and being in the public eye has not made the process any easier.

They also make mistakes along the way, unfortunately, in front of the public's eyes, which mostly ends up with the mother of four getting the shorter end of the stick. She added that learning also never ends, even as a parent, but all this criticism does not change the fact that her daughter is a "good girl and such a sweet girl."

She revealed that, contrary to what people think, West actually takes fashion tips from her, but when she wants blue hair, then blue hair it is. The SKIMS co-founder further stated:

"You know, it makes her so happy. I would never take that creativity away from her. I just think anyone that's raising kids, especially four kids by myself, I'm doing the best that I can."

Kardashian rounded up her appearance on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast, pleading with everyone to give every mom of a teen or preteen as much grace as possible.

As reported by The Blast, Kardashian and West angered spectators with a TikTok video of the budding rapper alongside her mom. In the clip, she wore a mini skirt and a black corset top, paired with bright blue hair.

Thousands of fans wondered why Kardashian would let West make a video with that kind of outfit and to the soundtrack of Destroy Lonely's "If Looks Could Kill."

Commenters noted that her daughter should not be allowed to digest the sexually suggestive lyrics contained in the track, especially the part which reads "Riding down Candler Road, and I'm speeding/I got hella h-es tryna f-ck me and my bros."

Several TikTok users condemned Kardashian for her alleged lack of boundaries on what West should consume or be exposed to, drawing parallels between West's childhood and Kardashian's upbringing.

The actress and her darling daughter took the party out to the streets of Rome, where they were vacationing, wearing the same outfit from the video. West accessorized her fancy look with chunky platform boots, which added extra inches to her height. 

For Kardashian, the proud mom chose a black slip dress that showed off her legs, paired it with black heels, a diamond choker, and a dazzling crucifix necklace.

Bits and pieces of their outing made it online, eliciting several reactions from social media users who chastised Kardashian for letting West step out in such a "grown" outfit.

From the TikTok videos to the outing and backlash that followed, it may seem as though the public has taken similar steps to those West's dad, Kanye "Ye" West, took. The rapper had cried about lacking control over his children, including their social media presence and usage.

Ye had voiced his concerns for his daughter's exposure and fashion choices while growing up with the Kardashians, whom he branded as adult film stars.

Despite these controversies, Kardashian and West's bond has only gotten stronger. The reality star showered her beloved first daughter with all the love for her 12th birthday back in June.

In an Instagram post that garnered over 3 million likes, Kardashian shared a collection of pictures and videos of West from over the years.

She began the collection with an adorable picture of her holding West at a few months old and planting a big kiss on her cheek. The slides became more nostalgic, featuring cute pictures of baby West taking naps and playing around in the house.

"My little baby North turns 12 years old today. We were looking at pics today together and laughing so hard, you were so small. It's been the most special calling being your mom," the mother-of-four captioned the post.

Several celebrities, including Khloe Kardashian and Katy Perry, raved about how the years have passed by so quickly.

The actress dropped many gems on Cooper's podcast, noting that since her divorce from Ye, her daughter has now encouraged her to explore romantic connections and get a boyfriend.

According to The Daily Mail, she claimed that West confronted her about pretending that her single status does not hurt and even revealed she probably cries over it at night. Her daughter has given her permission to spread her net into the ocean and bring that lucky man home.

However, for Kardashian, the way to her heart remains closed for now, as the reality star shared that she is juggling so many things that require her attention at the moment, and it would be unfair to have a boyfriend in the midst of it.

Should she decide to give love a chance, it would definitely not be with a flashy man. Now, Kardashian is on the lookout for "lawyers and longevity scientists" who can reveal all their secrets to her.
