Suni Lee Gets Her Wings, Will Join Angel Reese And Walk During The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The stars are shining brighter than ever in New York City, as Olympic Gold Medalist Suni Lee is gearing up to walk the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show with WNBA star Angel Reese. Victoria's Secret's PINK brand shared an image of the 22-year-old gymnast on its official Instagram account, teasing the epic collab just hours before the "VS Angels" are scheduled to strut the runway.

The news of Lee's participation in the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, on October 15, came by way of PINK's official post on social media, where the iconic VS brand boasted about the newest name walking alongside iconic angels at Steiner Studios in New York City.

"It's official: Sunisa Lee is trading gold for PINK and walking the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway tonight," the caption read. "Get ready to watch her make her-story (again)."

In the comment section, fans couldn't contain their excitement about Lee's upcoming appearance, with one writing, "I'll be watching just for you."

Other fans flocked to the comments to congratulate Lee on her accomplishment. "The first Hmong woman to walk the VS show ever."

A third user was just excited to shower Lee with praise, posting, "OLYMPIAN ANGEL!!!"

And Lee isn't the only big name prepared to get her wings. Last week, the iconic lingerie brand shared the news that Angel Reese would be the first professional athlete to grace the VS runway.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Reese reflected on the special moment and revealed she "could not stop smiling" when she learned she booked the gig.

"It’s such a surreal and full-circle moment, just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for," she said.

Reese's accomplishment is more than a personal win. For her, it's about representation and proving that she can be more than a dominant athlete.

"I hope I can inspire women and girls everywhere and remind them that we can dominate in our field but also chase our goals outside of it, and for me, that’s getting to walk down fashion and entertainment’s most iconic runway," she said.

"It's all about confidence!" Reese added before teasing that she's been training for "both basketball and the fashion show" over the last few weeks. "... I'm ready to swap my Angel Reese 1s for heels on Wednesday night!"

Much like Lee, Reese's biggest supporters jumped at the chance to highlight the Chicago Sky star's newest feat, hyping her up in the comment section of her latest Instagram post.

Not only did she obtain well-wishes from her teammate, Kamilla Cardoso, but Reese also received praise from WNBA champion Lisa Leslie and WWE Diva Charlotte Flair.

Of course, the LSU alums' fans had nothing but positive things to say as well, with one writing, "This Angel got her wings."

Another wrote, "Yes! Yes! Let'em know there's no ceiling! Congratulations."

"They hate to see you winning," someone posted. "I love this for you! Keep winning!"

There's much that goes into making the Victoria's Secret Angels runway-ready. In a promotional video on Instagram, the brand's new executive creative director, Adam Selman, described the show as a "spectacle."

"Everything’s a fantasy, and it’s more about how you contextualize the fantasy. I’m really contextualizing it in showing the idea of day to night," he said. "It starts with morning and it ends at black tie."

Along with Lee and Reese, viewers can tune in to Victoria's Secret's social media accounts and Prime Video at 7 PM EST to catch the show live. Fans will also see other public figures during the show, including Missy Elliot, TWICE, Madison Beer, and Karol G.

Other models confirmed to be walking include Barbara Palvin, Gigi Hadid, Stella Maxwell, Ashley Graham, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Precious Lee, and Anok Yai.
