Justin Trudeau 'Sowing His Oats' With Katy Perry After Being Restrained By Marriage And Politics: 'It's in His DNA To Do This'

Justin Trudeau's romantic connection with Katy Perrymay be nothing more than a summer fling after all. 

The duo was recently spotted sharing a steamy moment on a yacht. However, inside sources tag the former Prime Minister of Canada's connection with the singer as "a bit of a midlife crisis." 

Justin was married to Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, but the two called it quits in 2023 after being married for 18 years.

Neither Trudeau nor Perry has come forward to explain the true nature of their connection. However, an insider close to the situation thinks it may be nothing serious after all. 

The informant explained that Perry "may just be Justin's answer to going to Burning Man," noting that the politician is simply enjoying his downtime after serving as the Prime Minister of Canada for ten years. 

"He is sowing his oats all over again. He's free from the ties of office and his marriage," the source shared with Page Six.

More insiders have also posited the theory that the relationship between Trudeau and Perry may be mutually beneficial because they both have connections with high-profile personalities. Some of such high-profile figures include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez. 

Trudeau and Perry's romance may have come as a shock to fans. However, insiders say people close to the former Prime Minister shouldn't be surprised by the news because Trudeau, like his father, tends to favor famous people when searching for a romantic connection. 

"I don't think anyone that knows him is surprised that Justin would date someone famous. It does echo his father. It's in his DNA to do this," the source said. 

Trudeau's father, Pierre Trudeau, also served as the Prime Minister of Canada before his death in 2000. During his lifetime, he explored romantic relationships with famous women, including Barbra Streisand and Kim Cattrall.

Still speaking on the politician and the pop star's relationship, the source shared that sparks are flying between the two because "Justin is fascinated by her." 

The "California Gurls" singer, on the other hand, likely took a liking to Trudeau because he is a famous person who is "removed from the [show-biz] industry."

Over the summer, reports surfaced that Perry was with Trudeau in Chester, Nova Scotia, while he searched for a house to buy. However, the singer's reps debunked the claims and noted that she didn't go house hunting with the political figure. 

Reports about the duo's romantic connection come only a few days after they put up a PDA-filled romantic display for the world to see. 

The Blast reported that the lovebirds were spotted on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara. Without a care in the world, they shared intimate moments on the upper deck of the yacht, with the politician placing his hand on the singer's butt as they kissed. 

An eyewitness who was at the scene recalled the moment they identified Trudeau as the man Perry was kissing. 

"She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn't realise who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy's arm, and I immediately realised it was Justin Trudeau," the witness recalled. 

Shortly after the duo's PDA moment was captured, reports surfaced about how Trudeau was "relentless" while seeking out a romantic connection with Perry. 

According to a source, as The Blast reported, he was "persistent when it came to dating Katy." The insider also revealed that the songwriter "enjoys" the Canadian politician's company and considers him a smart person. 

Despite liking 53-year-old Trudeau, Perry was reportedly hesitant to get into anything with him. However, "he continued to be present, continued showing up and wanting to be with her." 

Trudeau may have persistently chased Perry because he is ready to move on from his past with Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, who likely shares the same sentiment. 

Barely two days after Trudeau and Perry were spotted in their steamy moment on a yacht, Sophie shared a cryptic post on Instagram, talking about life's impermanence. 

In a vulnerable post, the former TV host asked her followers if they resonate with the thought that "sometimes we forget that nothing we love was ever meant to be kept," per The Blast.

She spoke about how holding on sometimes feels safer than letting go, but urged her audience to do the latter because "love was never about possession" but presence.
