Kim Kardashian has opened up about her "toxic" marriage to ex Kanye West, whom she says hasn't seen their kids in months.
The SKIMS founder explained that things initially went well and that they had "such a fun time together."
However, Kim Kardashian had to pull the plug on their marriage after she became affected by his mental health issues and public callouts by family members.
Kim Kardashian Spills About Her 'Toxic' Marriage To Kanye West

Kardashian is pulling back the curtain on her "toxic" marriage to her ex-husband, West, as well as their challenging co-parenting effort. The pair, who share four kids: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, tied the knot in 2014 but split in 2022.
In a recent appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, the reality TV star explained that she was initially drawn to the "Donda" rapper because of his intellect, adding that she saw him as a "larger than life" kind of person while admitting that they did have fun, "such a fun time" together.
However, their marriage quickly went sour following a series of mental health issues and public breakdowns he experienced.
"When someone has like their first mental break, you want to be super supportive and you want to help figure that out and be there for them," she explained. "But when someone isn't willing to make changes that I think would've been super healthy and beneficial, it makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic."
The business mogul said that one of the primary reasons she remained in the marriage after it became unsustainable was for the sake of her children, adding that she had stayed in hopes he would improve.
The Reality TV Star Says Kanye West Hasn't Seen Kids In Months

West has made several public outcries in the past where he accused the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star of preventing him from seeing their children.
In a particular X tweet, the "Carnival" rapper alleged that she'd "kidnapped" their babies, but she addressed the claims.
"It's not a kidnapping, it's a divorce," Kardashian said. "I raise the kids full-time. They live with me, and I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad, and I think he knows that."
"I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when, you know, it's time for that. And it goes in waves and phases, and it's a lot of work," she shared, per the Daily Mail.
When asked about the last time West saw his kids, Kardashian noted, "Whenever he'll call for them and ask. It's probably been a couple months since we've heard from him."

On her part, the aspiring lawyer explained that she was ready to do everything to make the relationship work, but soon after, she became exhausted due to West's many episodes that left her puzzled.
Kardashian eventually decided to leave and use the opportunity to show her kids "a good example of setting boundaries" in relationships, especially as her own mental health was affected in some way.
"I had to save myself in order to be a better mum for everyone," she said. "And I think when everyone's older, they'll be able to understand it and see that all."
When asked what the "final straw" for her was, she said, "There were just a lot of things that I wouldn't deal with. I didn't like the talking bad about my kids' grandmother, aunts - if someone feels that way, then we shouldn't be together."
"You know, airing out a lot of stuff, a lot of personal stuff," she added.
The Reality TV Star Says Her Relationship With Kanye West Has Affected Her Dating Life

The mother of four went further to weigh in on how her marriage to West has left a negative impact on her love life.
After their divorce was finalized, West has since moved on with wife Bianca Censori, but the TV personality has remained unmarried following relationship spells with Pete Davidson and Odell Beckham Jr.
She said, "There has been situations where I'll get close to someone, then it's like, 'wait, wait, wait, I don't really want to deal with your ex. I don't want to deal if he's going to say something.'"
"So it has been a little frustrating, but then I get 'my' person wouldn't care about that," she added.
Kanye West Came After Kim Kardashian's Ex-Boyfriend, Pete Davidson

When Kardashian was dating Davidson, West was very hard on the comedian and publicly called him out on several occasions.
The "Vultures 1" rapper also released a video at the time, in which he appeared to have buried a caricature version of the former "Saturday Night Live" host.
"That made me feel really sad. That really wasn't fair for [Pete]," Kardashian reflected on the video. "And I felt so sad and sorry for him. He was such a great man that was like, 'I got this, don't worry, it's all good!' And it just must suck to be put in that position."
Kardashian added that the situation has left her needing to place restrictions on relationships because she doesn't "want to put anyone in that position."
"So, it's easier if I just maybe stay away... but then I can't live my life like that," Kardashian said.
