Britney Spears' Ex-Husband Warns The Singer Is 'Racing Toward Something Irreversible'

Kevin Federline has aired his concern over his ex-wife Britney Spears' recent actions in his upcoming memoir.

An excerpt from the book, which is set for release on October 21, reveals that the singer's former husband fears the situation may soon reach an irreversible point.

Britney Spears' ex-husband also shared worries that their sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, could be left to deal with the aftermath.

Ahead of the release of his memoir, an excerpt obtained by The New York Times revealed details about Kevin Federline's concerns over his ex-wife's recent erratic behavior on social media.

"The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it's racing toward something irreversible," the D.J. wrote in  the memoir titled "You Thought You Knew."

In recent months, Britney has found herself caught up in several controversial situations that have raised eyebrows.

She was involved in a scandal with a private jet service, and her apology at the time came off as more nonchalant than sincere.

Spears also casually admitted that she nearly crashed into her house with a new car she had just purchased and has continued sharing strange, risqué photos of herself at home, which has only further fueled speculation that she may be spiraling out of control.

"It's become impossible to pretend everything's OK," Federline added in the memoir about the situation.

According to Federline, it's only a matter of time before something truly serious happens, given Spears' current situation.

He also believes that their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, whom they welcomed during their three-year marriage, will be deeply affected by it all.

"From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we're getting close to the 11th hour," Federline claimed. "Something bad is going to happen if things don't change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces."

The 47-year-old's fears about Spears appear to be fueled by past incidents in which the former pop star allegedly displayed behavior that left her children frightened and unwilling to visit her home.

"They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — 'Oh, you're awake?' — with a knife in her hand," Federline claimed in the memoir.

He added, "Then she'd turn around and pad off without explanation."

Previous reports have offered a glimpse into what Federline's upcoming memoir will explore upon its release.

As many might expect, the book will chronicle his failed marriage to Spears from their "love at first sight" beginnings to the challenges of "picking up the pieces after the turmoil of their divorce."

The book will also focus "primarily on Kevin's experience as a father" to his five children: Kori, 23, Kaleb, 21, Jordan, 14,  Peyton, 11, and his two children with Spears.

When the memoir debuts, Federline hopes the project will show critics of his parenting that he truly "stepped up as a father" when it mattered most.

"Kevin gave up a lot to give those boys [Preston and Jayden] a semblance of normalcy, and he's tried to keep his other kids out of the spotlight too," a source said, per US Magazine.

He added, "He wanted to write the book to shed light on what his life was really like behind the scenes because so many people thought he was a deadbeat and he wasn't."

For now, it remains to be seen how the situation surrounding Spears will pan out, but sources say her family is "worried" and "terrified for her future."

"Her house is a mess. She doesn't clean up after the dogs, "a source said, referencing the viral picture of Spears' house being littered with poop, per Page Six. "She doesn't have someone there cleaning every day, and she just isn't functioning like an adult would function."

A source also recently pointed out that Spears "doesn't believe she has a problem" and cannot be forced into therapy or any kind of mental health evaluation.

"The law in California is that you cannot force anyone for a mental evaluation," added the insider.
