During an upcoming episode of the "Armchair Expert" podcast, Aniston peeled back more layers on her struggles with infertility.

The 56-year-old actress explained to the podcast's co-host, Monica Padman, why she has never been particularly interested in the idea of adoption.

Padman first opened up about her egg freezing journey and told Aniston that she had been indecisive about wanting children. She then threw a question at the featured guest, asking whether she had found "peace" in being okay with not having children.

The "Friends" actress answered, "It's so peaceful. But I will say there's a point where it's like out of my control. There's literally nothing I can do about it."

She also noted that while people have suggested adoption, it was never really her cup of tea because she has always wanted to birth a child who carries her genes.

"When people say, 'But you can adopt,' I don't want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I've wanted it," Aniston said, per People Magazine.

The "We're The Millers" star acknowledged that there have been times when she has met someone and briefly thought they would make great kids together. However, that feeling usually faded quickly.

Aniston's comments come just a few days after she publicly addressed the varying speculations the public has had over her reproductive life.

During an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, the "Murder Mystery" actress said that she had previously chosen to keep her lips sealed about her struggles because it wasn't "anybody's business."

She slammed the media for always trying to paint her as a "selfish workaholic" who chose fame over children and admitted that the speculations hurt her feelings.

"They didn't know my story, or what I'd been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don't go out there and tell them my medical woes," she said, as reported by The Blast.

As The Blast reported, she grew up in New York and was a huge fan of going to the theatre, so she thinks it'll be "fun" to star in a Broadway production. However, she still has mixed feelings about it.

Broadway isn't the only thing that Aniston feels strongly about. She also feels overwhelmed by events such as the Met Gala and, as such, has turned down invitations to attend it on multiple occasions.

In a September interview, Aniston admitted to feeling uncomfortable in large gatherings.

The "Horrible Bosses" star is often cautious of how she presents herself in events because the media can easily misconstrue her words. Therefore, she avoids most flashy red-carpet events when possible.
