The Hollywood legend meticulously curated a lengthy essay filled with praise and admiration for the late actress. In the opening part of the essay, Allen wrote:

"It's grammatically incorrect to say 'most unique,' but all rules of grammar, and I guess anything else, are suspended when talking about Diane Keaton."

He described her as incomparable to anyone on the planet, adding that her kind would never be seen again in this world. The actor then went into details about their first meeting as colleagues, revealing that the only opinion he cared about at any point was Keaton's.

"If she was less than enthusiastic, I tried to use her criticism to reedit and come away with something she felt better about," Allen wrote in tribute, according to The FP.

While she had several famous relationships under her name, the actress never settled down with any of them or even considered marriage. As reported by The Blast, Keaton was beyond fulfilled; she did not take a walk down the aisle.

"Today I was thinking, I'm the only one in my generation of actresses who has been a single woman all her life," the actress said back in 2019, adding that she had always felt like an oddball in that aspect all her life.

The Hollywood icon explained that her decision was shaped by confidence and a belief that love does not need marriage to be adequately defined.

She, however, took active steps towards becoming a mother by adopting two kids in her 50s, emphasizing that family had more to do with connection and very little to do with convention.

Keaton described the experience as "completely humbling," with her close circle affirming that her world had taken a 360-degree turn with the arrival of those kids into her life, making her softer and more grounded.

On why she waited so long to become a mother, the actress revealed that it happened after years of deliberation on whether she should take the step.

Keaton added that her former romantic partners would absolutely be thankful that she chose not to settle down with them. The actress had allegedly dated famous Hollywood celebrities like Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, and Allen.

She also shared her unique and very conservative stance on relationships and dates, revealing that she does not go out with partners. In her words: "I don't remember anyone calling me, going, 'This is So-and-So, I'd like to take you out. They don't happen."

As reported by The Blast, the actress's son was spotted dashing out of his late mom's Los Angeles home on Sunday. Duke spoke a thousand words about his fashion choice that day, reminding fans of Keaton's iconic style.

The 25-year-old rocked an all-black outfit paired with two silver cross necklaces, mimicking that of Keaton, who always accessorized her outfits with cross jewelry and dramatic hats. Keaton had credited her little family for helping her lead a very normal life, away from the glitz and glam of Hollywood.

The actress's health had reportedly declined significantly in the months leading up to her passing, causing concern for everyone around her. By October 11, 2025, the star unfortunately passed away in her Los Angeles home.

Emergency services who responded to the panic call from her home reportedly transported her to a local hospital, where it became official that she was no more.

Rest in peace, Diane Keaton.
