'Charity begins at home' is John Legend's word of advice for Donald Trump amid his bid for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The renowned musician addressed the president's loss at this year's event, stressing that if he genuinely wished to earn the honor, he needed to change his administration's war against Democrats and dictatorship agenda.

John Legend's reaction to Donald Trump's loss follows the White House's claims of the Nobel Peace Prize organizers choosing "politics over peace."

The "All of Me" hitmaker reacted to Trump's loss on Instagram, dropping a video in his bathrobe. The post, captioned "Trump for Peace Prize 2026!" captured Legend advocating for the president's honor at the next Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

"Believe it or not, I want you to do this. I want this peace prize for you so badly. I want this for us, for all of us," Legend claimed. He believed Trump could earn the prestigious honor in 2026 if he changed his controversial ways, such as "sending Black Hawk helicopters to terrorize people" in Chicago.

"Yes, the so-called 'Peace President' who's ending wars around the world would also have to stop declaring war on the American people," Legend advised Trump. He implored the president to stop sending the military to cities just because they are run by Democrats and to stop the inhumane ICE raids.

Legend's advice to Trump didn't stop at the immigration controversy and weaponizing the military against protesters. He noted that the president could become eligible for the next Nobel Peace Prize if he did a complete 180 and embraced a democracy rather than a dictatorship.

"He'd have to stop all this authoritarian, dictator sh-t, all the fascist sh-t, all the inhumane sh-t he's been trying to do," Legend stressed. He also applauded Trump for taking a step in the right direction by brokering the ceasefire deal between Palestine and Israel.

Legend gave the president his flowers, acknowledging his efforts as "instrumental in bringing about this new peace deal." However, the longtime Trump critic could not hold back and teased the president at the end of the video, noting he had opted for "positive reinforcement" to get Trump to change his ways.

Fans Applaud The EGOT Honoree's Message To The POTUS

Legend's post sparked thousands of comments from fans, many of whom were rolling on their sides laughing at his gentle parenting stance. "Now I understand why Legend had his 'Ms Rachel' voice on. Gotta talk to Trump at his 3rd-grade level! Great parenting skill," a fan penned.

Another echoed similar sentiments, writing, "JOHN....... the ride you took us on here was absolutely diabolical. So glad that I stayed until the very end. I need a nap now." A third agreed, applauding Legend for talking to Trump like a parent would to a stubborn child.

"If positive reinforcement can work miracles in preschool and in parenting, maybe it's worth a shot in politics too?" an IG user added. More fans agreed with Legend's message, stressing that Trump shouldn't earn a Nobel Peace Prize unless he changed his ways.

After the Nobel Peace Prize Committee announced María Corina Machado as this year's recipient of the prestigious award, the White House responded by criticizing the organizers. The BBC reported that White House communications director Steven Cheung has addressed the situation on X.

"The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace. President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives," Cheung's retort partly read. He praised Trump as a leader with "the heart of a humanitarian" and someone capable of making changes "with the sheer force of his will."

Although Trump actively lobbied for the Nobel Peace Prize, several hurdles prevented him from being qualified for the honor.

First, nominations for the award closed days after the president marked his return to office on 31 January. Additionally, the Gaza ceasefire deal he brokered was achieved two days before the award winner was announced.

Who Is The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize Honoree?

María Corina Machado, the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize honoree, received the honor for her "tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela." The activist gained recognition and infamy as Venezuela's opposition leader fighting against the dictatorial regime.

Although she has actively fought for her country's democracy for years and deserved every bit of the honor, Machado dedicated her victory to Trump. She revealed that the president had called to congratulate her, and she expressed gratitude for his efforts to promote world peace.

Machado noted that she thanked Trump for the good he was doing and for his support of the Venezuelan people. She explained that the president and the international community were helping her cause by cutting the inflows that come from drug trafficking and other illicit activities.
