He’s back! As we’ve been reporting for weeks now Prince Harry was set to make another UK return this year. This time on what may be a little more of a joyous occasion. At the end of the day though, it’s essentially another memorial service that he’s attending. Of course, Harry made his way back to the UK in April to attend the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh. A lot was made about the possibility of Meghan going with him to this event to commemorate Princess Diana. From What we know now that won’t be the case.

Meghan Stayed Home In California With Their Two Kids
After all of the speculation, Meghan Markle did what most moms would have done in this situation. The couple’s daughter Lilibet Diana is turning 21 days old today! Both she and Meghan are reported to be in great shape. However, making the trip across the pond even for an important occasion was not in the cards.
The long-awaited return of Meghan Markle to the UK will have to wait some more. At this point though there’s a lot of speculation brewing over what Markle’s place in the Royal Family will be moving forward.
Is Meghan Markle Getting The Wallis Simpson Treatment?
Time for a quick Royal history lesson. After King Edward VIII gave up the throne to marry an American divorced woman, Wallis Simpson, he would make brief UK returns as well. In most of which he would find himself alone. The situation was way different than the whole Meghxit scandal. Since Harry was never the king and really won’t become king. There are a ton of similarities though.
To this point, after Meghan left for Canada when the couple quit the royals she really has never been allowed back in the Royal fold. A year and change into the whole ordeal we can’t help but wonder if she’ll ever get invited back to Buckingham Palace!
How The Diana Statue Came About
For a while now it has been public knowledge that Prince William and Prince Harry had commissioned a statue of their mother to be made. As with many royal endeavors, it wasn’t as simple as just giving someone a call and having it made. The brothers actually went through the trouble of forming a committee that included Diana’s sisters and friends of hers.
Royal historians also reportedly had a say in the makeup of the piece. Ultimately the statue was left in the hands of Ian Rank-Broadley. The same artist who is responsible for the image of Queen Elizabeth that can be seen on British pounds since 1998.

Diana’s Statue Will Be Placed In A Spot That Is Near & Dear To Harry and Meghan
Although Meghan Markle won’t be present at the ceremony the statue of her mother-in-law will be placed in a spot that is relevant to her relationship with Harry. We’re not just saying this because the two were shacking together at Kengsington Palace before and after getting married. A statement released last year details the location chosen to house the statue it reads,
“The statue will be installed in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on 1st July 2021, marking The Princess’s 60th birthday,”
This happens to be the same garden where Harry and Meghan had their engagement photoshoot taken after it was made official that the two were set to be married.
