Real Life 'Love And Basketball': Bam Adebayo Stands By A’ja Wilson During Historic Title Run

NBA star Bam Adebayo and WNBA star A'ja Wilson are the real-life definition of "love and basketball."

Adebayo, who plays for the Miami Heat, was front and center supporting his girlfriend as she led the Aces to their third championship in four years. The NBA star cheered from the sideline, often seen sitting next to Wilson's parents during many games, including Game 4 of the Finals.

Their courtside moments highlight a true "Love and Basketball" story, showcasing the power couple's mutual support as they continue to grow their relationship and dominate in their respective leagues.

It's a real life "Love and Basketball" story. Wilson and Adebayo have been friends since at least 2023 when the Heat star showed up to an Aces game. While little has been publicly said about their thriving relationship, social media tells the love story pretty loud and clear.

In an April 2025 interview with Cosmo Sports, Wilson talked about how her "amazing boyfriend" was her "safe space."

"He's truly a gift. He's obviously in the same field, so we bounce off different things with one another to where it's like, no, we're not alone," she said. "He's helped me through a lot and welcomed me to be who I'm going to be. I know he's like, 'I don't know what A'ja I'm going to get today, but I'm blessed to be beside her.' And it's the same for me. When you can be your true self in front of someone, in front of your partner, that's the purest form of love. At any point if I ever need a voice to hear or just a hug, he's always there."

And while they never hard-launched their relationship online, and you won't see either of them posting pics together on their own social media pages, the internet is all about keeping up with their love story.

Right after winning the 2025 Championship, Adebayo was seen embracing Wilson in an emotional moment. Fans were loving this and shared their thoughts in the comments of the WNBA's Instagram video.

"She melted right in his arm and he affirmed her," one fan wrote. Another added, "I’m smilin like I know them." That seemed to be a relatable comment because more than 5,800 people liked it.

And there's more where those came from. "I might be off but I’m pretty sure this is the 1st WNBA & NBA couple where they’re BOTH GREAT and known," one fan wrote. Wilson and Adebayo most certainly both have such fun-loving attitudes. They are often seen smiling, laughing, and joking around, and it was that way after Game 4 of the Finals. While there were emotions running high from such an amazing accomplishment, there was also lots of fun moments captured.

ESPNW shared a video on Instagram of Wilson holding the trophy and shaking her tambourine as Adebayo watched with a smile on his face.

Another fan predicts what we all are hoping happens - "she got another ring coming."

A video that Sportscenter shared on Instagram shows Adebayo is one of us, making sure he gets that money shot selfie with his girl after winning the championship.
