"Real Housewives of Potomac" star Wendy Osefo is facing 16 fraud charges, seven of which are felony offenses, after being arrested in Maryland on Thursday, October 9.
The arrest comes after investigators claim Wendy and her husband, Eddie Osefo, conspired to defraud their insurance company out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by reporting items stolen from a burglary they allege never happened.
In court documents, law enforcement officials detail the alleged scheme and even say they found some of the reported stolen items during a search and seizure raid on the Osefos' home.
Following the news of their arrest, loyal Bravo fans began scouring the internet for more information about the reported burglary from April 2024. During their search, they came across a previous interview in which Wendy Osefo detailed the alleged events and described her family as "heartbroken."
Wendy Osefo Gave An In-Depth Interview Following Her Alleged Home Burglary
While speaking on the "Gabbing with Gib" podcast, Osefo opened up about the alleged burglary, explaining that it happened just before cameras went up for season 9 of "RHOP." She told the host that the incident occurred during their spring break trip, adding, "I was just so heartbroken."
Continuing, Wendy recalled feeling extremely "violated," especially because she and the "investigator" believed the alleged robbery was "targeted."
According to Wendy, her neighborhood in Finksburg, Maryland, has existed for over two decades, and there's never been any reported crime until her claim in 2024.
Getting even more personal, Wendy mentioned her children during the podcast, saying "motherhood" is what keeps her grounded, and knowing they could've been harmed during the reported break-in was "heartbreaking" for her.
"Where I live is for their safety, for them to have ample acres to run, play, enjoy, free of anything," Wendy said. "When someone comes into your home, which is such a sacred space, and violates you in such a way, you start questioning things."
Wendy Osefo Said She And Her Family Changed Aspects Of Their Lives Following The Reported Robbery

Elsewhere during the podcast interview, Wendy expressed her gratitude that she and her family were safe following the "gut-wrenching" event. She also detailed how they were moving differently following the alleged incident, describing her house as "like Fort Knox."
"It’s altered the way I move, and you want to be naive and feel like no one is watching you. You can just live life freely, but unfortunately, that is not the case, so it has changed a lot of things," she admitted.
Wendy And Eddie Osefo Were Arrested And Hit With Numerous Felony Charges

As previously reported by The Blast, Wendy and her husband, Eddie, were arrested in early October 2025 after law enforcement officials said the couple lied about the alleged burglary in April 2024 to get massive payouts from not one, but three insurance companies.
Members of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said that when Wendy and Eddie initially reported their alleged home burglary, the couple claimed several high-value items, including handbags and jewelry, had been stolen. However, during their investigation, law enforcement officers noticed Wendy wearing one of the pieces that was believed to be stolen in social media pictures.
Investigators also found that the couple had reportedly returned items they claimed were stolen and received a refund for them before the alleged burglary occurred. And it doesn't end there. Wendy and Eddie reportedly signed documents, stating they lost $450,000 worth of property and that their home suffered $2,500 worth of damage.
Amid the investigation, an email from Eddie to Wendy was intercepted, in which he asked her whether there were any other "high-value items we can add to this inventory list," later writing, "I'm trying to get the total to exceed $423,000," their policy maximum.
During the couple's arrest, officers recovered at least "15 items that were allegedly stolen during the burglary."
