Angelina Jolie's Inner Circle Calls BS On Relocation Rumors

Angelina Jolie has no plans to leave the US permanently, despite viral claims stating otherwise.
A source close to the actress recently debunked the relocation rumors, claiming they held no merit. The speculations stemmed from reports that alleged the doting mother of six was looking forward to starting a new chapter with her children abroad.
The relocation rumors emerged amid Angelina Jolie's ongoing dispute with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, over their Château Miraval property. They tied the knot in 2014, separated in 2016, and butted heads for eight years before finalizing their divorce in December 2024.
Angelina Jolie's Ties To Los Angeles Are Reportedly Not Over

According to the insider, Jolie may enjoy traveling, but she has no plans to live abroad permanently. They dismissed the rampant relocation speculations, claiming that if the TV personality ever wanted a change of environment, she would choose New York.
The insider explained that Jolie may consider relocating to the Big Apple because most of her businesses are located in the city. However, she has no plans to move or sell her iconic Cecil B. DeMille estate in Los Angeles anytime soon.
TMZ reported that the relocation rumors went viral in late August following claims of Jolie's interest in selling her L.A. property. The insider assured the outlet that she will always have a home in the States with her family, despite spending extended periods abroad with her children.
Sources Alleged The Hollywood Icon Was Excited For Change

The Blast covered the relocation rumors, recently reporting that sources claimed Jolie was dissatisfied with her life in the US and looking to change her environment permanently. In one source's words:
'She'll always love L.A., but she feels it has served its purpose. She's ready for her next chapter."
The source explained that Jolie had experienced "a shift," which made her feel "lighter and more at ease." A second source agreed, noting that she was "very excited for this next phase of her life."
The second source added that she had a wide range of places outside the States to call home, claiming Jolie flourished whenever she left Hollywood. They stated that she enjoyed "being in cultures that inspire her" and has close pals in places such as Cambodia, France, and Africa.
The 'Maria' Star Once Talked About Moving Abroad

Following the relocation claims, a 2019 interview resurfaced, capturing Jolie's thoughts on moving abroad. She confessed that she would love to relocate her family outside the US and declared that she would fulfill her wish once all her children turned 18.
Given her past comments, sources implied that Jolie would make good on her promise following the 18th birthday of her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, in July 2026. The speculations further skyrocketed due to the filmmaker's comments about America.
During a press conference for her new movie, "Couture," at the San Sebastián Film Festival in September, Jolie was queried about the challenges artists face in America amid Jimmy Kimmel's suspension. "I love my country, but at this time, I don't recognize my country," she confessed.
The Oscar Winner Doesn't Have A Tell-All Book In The Works

Jolie's fame, especially her highly publicized feud with Pitt, made her the victim of various speculations. The Blast shared in August that she made waves for allegedly planning to address her infamous split from her "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star in a tell-all book.
Contrary to the rumors, a source from Jolie's camp claimed she had no plans to write about her private life in a book. The memoir speculations came amid the entertainer's ongoing legal battle with Pitt over their Château Miraval property.
The contentious war between the exes began when Pitt filed a lawsuit accusing Jolie of selling her share of the winery to Stoli Group executive Alexey Oliynik without his permission. His ex-wife fired back by accusing him of vindictive retaliation after their split.
Angelina Jolie Drops Emotional Declaration About Her Separation From Brad Pitt

After Pitt demanded Jolie hand over her private messages linked to their Château Miraval dispute, The Blast reported that she responded with an emotional declaration about their split. She dropped several bombshells, revealing she and her children hadn't set foot on the property since her divorce.
Jolie explained that she willingly gave up control of the former couple's properties in L.A. and Château Miraval, hoping it would make Pitt feel at ease during their dealings.
Although it hurt her to lose the winery, which housed treasured memories with her children, she had no choice but to sell her share to make ends meet.
The filmmaker added that she had declined work for two years to care for her children, did not ask Pitt for alimony or financial support, and struggled to find a new home for her family after her separation.
On that note, Jolie justified her decision to sell her Château Miraval stake and requested that Pitt pay her legal fees.
