Reba McEntire joins longtime pal Dolly Parton in disputing the viral Deepfake images of them circulating on the internet.
The country music singer and sensational actress addressed the widespread speculations in a recent social media update, assuring fans all is well in her and Parton's affairs with her signature humor.
Reba McEntire's response to the AI-generated images of her and Dolly Parton follows the "Jolene" hitmaker's reaction to the rumors. The fake images depicting her declining health became rampant on social media after her sister asked fans for prayers.
Reba McEntire Shuts Down Deepfake Hoax With Humor

On Thursday, October 9, McEntire updated her Instagram page with a video featuring her in a light blue sweater, her signature red hair styled in bangs that framed her face. She filmed her response to the viral AI-generated image hoax that suggested Parton was on her deathbed.
In case fans missed it, the picture flashed across the screen showcasing a Deepfake McEntire looking somber as she held the hands of an older and frail Parton in a hospital. Another fake image captured the actress holding an ultrasound photo while her fiancé, Rex Linn, cradled her baby bump.
Parton was also featured in the fake pregnancy image behind the couple, looking pleasantly surprised by the news. "You tell 'em, Dolly. That AI mess has got us doing all kinds of crazy things," McEntire began in the clip, adding:
"You're out there dying, I'm out here having a baby. Well, both of us know you're too young, and I'm too old for any of that kind of nonsense."
Dolly Parton Supports Her Longtime Pal's Message

Besides using the post to set the record straight, McEntire also sent love to her longtime friend. She wanted Parton to know she would always have a special place in her heart and prayers and signed off with her longing for a reunion.
"Too young to die, too old for babies. I love you @DollyParton! See you soon," McEntire captioned the post. Her response to the Deepfake hoax received positive reactions from fans and celebrities, including Parton, who dropped a heart emoji.
"Y'all addressing these Al is hilarious!!! Love ya both!!!" a fan penned. Another echoed similar sentiments, writing, "I've always loved Dolly. What a class act she is. She has always been honest, just like Reba. Both country legends!!!" The love for McEntire and Parton continued, with actress Melissa Peterman labeling them "Queens."
How The Queen Of Country Music Reacted To The Deepfake Images

McEntire's response to the AI-generated hoax followed Parton's reaction. The Blast covered the story, reporting that she addressed the speculations on Wednesday, October 8. She assured fans that she wasn't dying, saying:
"I'm not ready to die yet. I don't think God is through with me, and I ain't done working."
Parton noted that she appreciated fans' love and support, but the situation was not as dire as the Deepfake images implied. She confessed that she had let her health decline while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean, leading to doctors advising her to prioritize resting.
On that note, Parton explained that she had to cancel a few commitments, such as her Las Vegas gig, to stay close to home and continue her treatments. She doubled down on being healthy, assuring fans that she wasn't sick and would continue to work hard.
Dolly Parton's Sister Sparked Concerns About Her Well-Being

Speculations about the country music icon's health skyrocketed when her sister, Freida Parton, asked for prayers. The Blast shared that her words were easily misunderstood as a confession that something had happened to Dolly.
Freida's plea for prayers partly read, "With all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she's going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly." After the post sent fans into a panicked frenzy, the singer's sibling immediately clarified that her words were misconstrued.
In a separate post, Freida assured fans that Dolly wasn't in danger and apologized for unintentionally giving everyone a fright. She explained that her famous sibling had "just been a little under the weather," and she asked for prayers because she believed in its power to heal.
Reba McEntire Confirms Her Engagement To Rex Linn

The Deepfake hoax drama comes a month after McEntire confirmed her engagement to her longtime partner, Linn. The Blast reported that she confirmed the news during a red carpet interview at the 2025 Emmy Awards in September.
When a reporter referred to Linn as her fiancé, McEntire blushed and did not refute the label. Her reaction followed a source's claims that she and Linn had been engaged for a few months and were "very happy."
Months earlier, McEntire echoed similar sentiments about her blossoming relationship with Linn, claiming that they complemented each other in various ways. She added that working with him on "Happy's Place" sitcom was a dream come true.
Will Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire's reactions to the AI-generated images of them stop the trend?
