Kevin Costner has been accused of instigating a nasty brawl on the set of "Yellowstone" after he "lunged" at co-star Wes Bentley and caused production to shut down temporarily.

The movie star has been plagued by rumors of his unbecoming behavior on set, including allegations that he tried to "rewrite scripts without warning" and was also involved in altercations with other co-stars.

Kevin Costner has also been embroiled in a sexual harassment lawsuit by a stunt performer on his film "Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2."

Costner was allegedly involved in an explosive on-set clash with his "Yellowstone" co-star, Wes Bentley, and caused production to temporarily shut down.

Things seemingly got physical as insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that the 70-year-old actor "lunged" at Bentley after he refused to "ditch Taylor Sheridan's script" and perform the scene according to his own direction.

Bentley reportedly refused, telling Costner he had "signed up for a Taylor Sheridan show, not a Kevin Costner production."

"Kevin didn't like that, and he lunged at him," an insider told the news outlet. "No fists were thrown, but they were in each other's faces, pushing and shoving and just getting hot until they had to be separated."

The alleged incident was described as "a tipping point on a set already cracking from creative power struggles and bruised egos."

Costner's actions also affected other stars on the show, with reports claiming Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, was moved to tears, and others found it increasingly hard to work with the Oscar winner.

One insider noted that the standoff with 47-year-old Bentley was just another example of Costner being "impossible."

"There's a long list of people in Hollywood who swear they'll never work with Costner again," the outlet reported.

After the alleged on-set tussles, Costner would eventually exit the show due to scheduling conflicts with his passion project "Horizon."

However, it turned out some of his co-stars were quite happy about it, as Luke Grimes admitted in a 2024 interview that Costner's absence made filming a lot easier.

"To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin being gone that meant some of the conflict was gone," Grimes explained. "Not pointing any fingers, but it was actually the easiest season we've filmed."

In the years following his exit, many others have come forward with several disturbing allegations against him, including his alleged inability to follow directions, tendency to rewrite "scripts without warning," alleged clash with show creator Taylor Sheridan, as well as clashes with co-stars.

However, his former agent, Rick Nicita, who represented him from 2002 to 2008, has spoken up in his defense, criticizing those who claim he's difficult to work with.

"The word difficult gets used a lot," Nicita told The Hollywood Reporter. "It can mean someone who won't come out of their trailer, or someone who doesn't know their lines, or is rude. That's not Kevin."

He continued: "He wanted what he wanted and knew what he wanted and if he didn't get it … well, he was never a great compromiser. It's a firm belief in himself and a confidence that to some can play as arrogance."

When Costner left the show, Sheridan admitted that he was "disappointed" by the exit, as it had a negative impact on the show's creative direction.

"It truncates the closure of his character," Sheridan said. "It doesn't alter it, but it truncates it."

The show creator has since denied any rift between the two of them, saying his opinion of the father-of-seven's wasn't "altered."

"I've never had an issue with Kevin that he and I couldn't work out on the phone," Sheridan said. "But once lawyers get involved, then people don't get to talk to each other and start saying things that aren't true and attempt to shift blame based on how the press or public seem to be reacting."

Sheridan said Costner "took a lot of this on the chin" in terms of the saga playing out publicly, adding, "I don't know that anyone deserves it."

It has been a tough couple of years for Costner after leaving the show to make his own movie, "Horizon."

Lead stunt performer on the show, Devyn LaBella, dragged him into a sexual harassment lawsuit that's threatening not to go away, as she accused him of forcing her to film a "violent" rape scene without prior notice or the presence of an intimacy coordinator.

According to The Guardian, Costner said LaBella's claims were a "bold-faced lie" that was "designed, through the use of false statements and sensationalistic language, to damage my reputation."
