"Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Dolores Catania revealed that she and her partner, Paulie Connell, were the victims of a frightening home invasion while they were out of town.
During a radio show appearance, Catania, 54, explained that she learned something terrible had happened after receiving a frantic phone call from one of her boyfriend's children.
And Dolores Catania's harrowing experience is unfortunately not unique within the Bravo universe, as "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" stars Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards have endured similar situations.
Dolores Catania's Home Was Broken Into In One Of The Most Frightening Ways Imaginable
While speaking with Jeff Lewis on his radio show, Catania shared the horrifying news that her home was broken into while she was away filming a new series for work.
"Our house got broken into last week … or two weeks ago," she said, later adding that the robbers "came in with a blowtorch."
Catania explained that she was in the middle of filming when she noticed a frantic phone call from one of her partner's children.
"My phone was going off and I saw it was his son," she said. "I always answer for the kids, even if I'm in the middle of filming. He goes, 'Is my dad there? The house just got broken into.'"
Dolores Catania's Boyfriend Was Terrified By The News

According to Catania, her boyfriend, who made cameos during the last season of "RHONJ," immediately feared that something terrible had happened to one of their children.
"I thought something happened to one of my kids or somebody’s child … but [the break-in] was pretty bad," he said before explaining that the robbers used a blowtorch to try and trip the couple's high-end security system.
"Apparently, they came in with a blowtorch. They broke the window," Connell explained. "They heated it so it wouldn’t set off the alarm. So it shatters without setting off the alarm."
Dolores Catania Shares Advice For People

Catania shared that her home's alarm system is top-notch and that it screams at burglars to "get out" when they've tripped the system.
And while terrifying, thankfully for Catania and Connell, the robbers left with nothing because law enforcement arrived swiftly on the scene.
"They were inside the house for about a minute and something," Connell stated. "They [spent] eight minutes trying to get in because they used this torch because the glass was tempered. So rather than smash the glass and set off the alarm, they heat it."
Catania also shared a major lesson she learned from the situation, hoping to help others avoid a similar encounter in the future.
"I want everyone to know this. We all love to post when we’re out and away, Paulie posted that day we were in Rhode Island … and that night we got broken into," she recalled, essentially warning her followers to be wary of what information they share online.
However, if one does try breaking into her home again, it sounds like the veteran reality star will be ready.
"Don't bother breaking into our house," she said.
Kyle Richards' Home Was Broken Into In 2017

Another Bravo star who experienced a home burglary is Kyle Richards from the network's Beverly Hills iteration. Her home was targeted in 2017 while she and her family were on vacation in Aspen, Colorado.
According to a report from PEOPLE, the burglars made off with more than "$1 million in jewelry and handbags."
"Everything was taken," Richards said at the time. "Everything my mother, who passed away, had ever collected and saved to give to me — that I had always envisioned of passing on to my four daughters — was gone."
She continued, "Even my children's baby bracelets. Obviously those are the things that hurt the most, things that I can't replace. They're completely invaluable."
Dorit Kemsley Was A Target As Well

Years later, in 2021, Richards' close friend and co-star, Dorit Kemsley, was also targeted in a home invasion, during which she was held at gunpoint.
Kemsley recalled most of the encounter during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," saying, "They didn't expect me to be home, and it wasn't immediately they went into my closet."
She explained that the robbers were "agitated and anxious," and she decided to counter that by being calm.
Richards echoed that sentiment, telling host Andy Cohen that she was "blown away" by Kemsley's ability to navigate such a stressful situation.
"... she was so calm and I was so impressed by that," she said.
