“The View” co-host Meghan McCain made some very bold statements while sharing her thoughts on Britney Spears’ conservatorship this week. She compared the singer’s conservatorship to “human trafficking” and suggested that not only the FBI gets involved but suggests that the courts are allowing “open slavery” to take place. “She is ostensibly being kept as a slave and working as a slave for her family and these conservators,” said McCain. The host was disgusted at how the pop star is being treated by so-called family and friends. “If these are people who will do this to this woman for 13 years, what can they do right now retaliating?”
Britney Has Spoken Up… Finally
Spears recently spoke out in her first public acknowledgment of her conservatorship and shared some pretty disturbing things that have been forced upon her. The 39-year-old compared her father to a “sex trafficker” who she further described as enjoying the control he possessed over her. In the 30-minute court appearance she added that she wishes to “sue” her family, “they should go to jail”. The powerful message really struck a chord with McCain who later said that the singer’s case was the “definition of human trafficking.” Referencing Spears’ Instagram account.

The FBI? Really?

McCain made a serious plea on-air for someone to help the mom of two. “I actually believe this has reached the level that the FBI needs to be involved,” McCain said enthusiastically. “Extradite her from her home away from these people at this very moment, because these are people that could continue the abuse in real time, I think it’s that extreme.” The hashtag “Free Britney” has been circling around the internet because like McCain, fans are extremely worried about the singer. Interest is usually peaked after she posts a new video on IG which many of her fans have described as “disturbing” and “controlled”.
Britney’s Fans Have Had Enough
McCain also shared her opinion on those bizarre IG posts. “She never seemed like someone who was, in my opinion, telling the truth or in control of herself. I am sadly not surprised by this, but it’s much more extreme than I ever could have possibly imagined.” The other show host nodded in agreement as McCain strongly expressed her feelings. “I don’t believe she’s safe,” stated McCain who described her feeling as “furious”. “These are people who could do God knows what to her, and honestly, thank God this woman hasn’t killed herself.”
Britney’s Words Cut Deep
A lot of people have had opinions on Spears’s situation, and many have even assumed that some level of abuse was taking place. Fortunately, during the June 22 hearing, she confirmed that things were not good for her. “I lied and told the whole world ‘I’m OK and I’m happy’” said Spears during the hearing “I thought I just maybe if I said that enough maybe I might become happy because I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized.” Fans are acting more fiercely towards the conservatorship and opening calling out Jamie Spears and his team of lawyers for holding the singer down.
