According to Complex, Cassie's legal team, Douglas Wigdor and Meredith Firetog, released a pointed statement following Diddy's sentencing, indicating they were pleased with Judge Arun Subramanian's 50-month sentence.

"While nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, the sentence imposed today recognizes the impact of the serious offenses he committed," they said.

During the trial in the summer of 2025, Cassie shared harrowing testimony detailing the traumatic events she endured during her nearly decade-long relationship with Diddy, including the violent, drug-fueled sex parties he hosted, known as "Freak Offs."

Cassie's legal team also revealed that the "Me & U" singer has specific plans for herself and her family as she moves forward.

As previously reported by The Blast, Cassie testified during Diddy's trial this past summer, becoming extremely vulnerable while speaking about her traumatic experiences with the father of seven.

"I was 22 at the time, my stomach churned, didn't have a concept of how that would be a turn on, but I accepted the responsibility," Cassie testified at the time. "I was confused, nervous, but also loved him very much and wanted to make him happy."

After some time, Cassie explained how the "Freak Offs" had become part of her everyday routine, stating that she'd be forced to stay out for days on end. "They would be 36, 48, 72 hours, the longest one was four days," she said, later saying how "humiliated" she felt after the encounters.

Days before Diddy's sentencing on October 3, Cassie also wrote a letter to the judge expressing her fear for her safety, according to News Nation.

"As much progress as I have made in recovering from his abuse, I remain very much afraid of what he is capable of and the malice he undoubtedly harbors towards me for having the bravery to tell the truth," she wrote.

Diddy also wrote to the judge a day before his sentencing, pleading for a second chance to demonstrate the changes he's made. The rapper acknowledged the "hurt and pain I have caused others by my conduct" and apologized to Cassie for the abuse she endured.

He also wrote about his experience in prison, as well, insisting he's been "reborn" after having a humbling experience. He went on to say that he has been working on himself by reading, writing, staying active, seeking therapy, and addressing his past substance abuse and anger issues.

"I have been putting in the work and working diligently to become the best version of myself to ensure that I never make the same mistakes again," he wrote.

Also advocating for mercy and leniency to the judge were Diddy's children, Justin Combs and Quincy Brown.

During an emotional portion of Diddy's sentencing hearing, Justin called his father "my superhero" before begging the judge to give him a "second chance."

"Your honor, I believe my father still has so much more to give the world and, more importantly, so much more to give his children," Justin said.

Quincy echoed that sentiment, claiming his father has learned a "major lesson" after being incarcerated since September 2024.

He also said his father has evolved since being behind bars, describing it as a complete transformation.

"Our father will never do anything to jeopardize his freedom, and as his children, we want to thank you. We only wish to heal together," he said.

Despite the pleas, in addition to his 50-month sentence, Judge Subramanian also issued Diddy five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.

A legal expert reacted to the sentence imposed by the judge, calling it a "split the baby sentence," according to PEOPLE. "It was heavier than I expected for a simple prostitution case. But when you brought in all the evidence of the violence, the force, the coercion, the threats, the drugs, I'm not surprised."
