Keith Urban's tense exchange with a radio host over a risqué question has reemerged following his breakup with Nicole Kidman.

During the interview, the country star was questioned about his wife appearing in "love scenes," but rather than responding, the call suddenly ended, leaving the hosts speculating whether Urban had hung up.

In the wake of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's split, Urban's reaction to a racy question from a radio show has resurfaced, hinting at the troubles their marriage may have had.

Back on July 1, the country music star joined Australia's Mix102.3 Adelaide morning program "Hayley & Max in the Morning" to promote his upcoming tour dates.

However, partway through the chat, the Grammy winner was pressed on his thoughts about Kidman appearing in on-screen "love scenes" during her film work, per the Daily Mail.

"What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron, having these beautiful love scenes?" host Max Burford asked Urban at the time, referencing Kidman's intimate role alongside Efron in "A Family Affair."

Instead of answering, the Zoom call suddenly cut off, leading the hosts and producers to assume that Urban had intentionally ended the interview.

After the abrupt end to the call, a program producer suggested a possible reason, saying that Urban's team "hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question."

Burford then asked whether the show had "beef" with Urban, to which his co-host Hayley Pearson replied that the singer likely just didn't appreciate the personal question.

Later, a source told People Magazine that Urban himself had nothing to do with ending the call, although the singer never personally confirmed what happened.

Given Urban and Kidman's recent split, it now seems likely that the couple was already experiencing marital strain at the time, and ending the call may have been his team's way of shielding him from answering such a personal question during a sensitive period.

Previous reports that emerged in the wake of the split revealed that Kidman and Urban had been living apart since the start of the summer.

It was also reported that the country singer purchased his own residence and moved out of their shared home.

While these appear to be recent developments, a source claimed that the couple rarely spent time together, even during the happier periods of their marriage.

"Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour," said a source, per the Daily Mail.

The source had also hinted at the possibility of the duo reconciling and salvaging their marriage, but that now seems unlikely as Kidman has filed for divorce in Nashville.

Other details about the divorce filing remain unclear, but might emerge in the coming days.

In the meantime, neither Urban nor Kidman has addressed the reason behind their decision to end their 19-year marriage.

For now, insiders have claimed that the couple was experiencing a lack of intimacy, which was further strained by their busy schedules.

"The intimacy isn't there; they are just going through the motions [of being married]. Keith had to call her out that he isn't happy," said an insider, per the Daily Mail.

According to the source, the actress was also "blindsided" by Urban calling things off, particularly with how he chose to move out and purchase his own residence.

Their kids, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, have been in Kidman's custody since the split, with other insiders claiming she is "holding the family together through this difficult time."

The actress has reportedly also been receiving support from her family as she navigates the aftermath of the breakup.

"Kidman is finding comfort in family at this time," the source shared, per People Magazine. "Nicole's sister [Antonia] has been a rock, and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another."
