Nicole Kidman And Keith Urban Might 'Not Divorce' As Separation Was A Move To 'Call Her Out' Over Busy Schedule

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s love story might not be over just yet. 

The two recently separated after 19 years of marriage. However, divorce might not be on the table yet as Urban only reportedly instigated the separation to redirect Kidman’s attention to the issues in their relationship. 

The former couple got married in 2006 and had two children together: 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Faith Margaret. 

Urban and Kidman reportedly went their separate ways because things between them had grown cold and distant. 

An insider noted that there was no longer intimacy between the two, due to their busy schedules. The source explained that the country singer “never sees” Kidman anymore because she is either filming or he is on tour. 

The distance prompted Urban to instigate the split because he was unhappy with the state of their relationship. However, while they are not together at the moment, the informant believes there might be a future where they end up back together.

“There was a lot of love between the two, and they might not divorce. They [have] been together for decades, so there is a world [in] which they can reconcile, but the way their pairing is now, they are not a couple,” the source told the Daily Mail.

The informant added, "If this separation gets them back together, that would be amazing, but Keith had to call her out that he isn't happy.” 

The 58-year-old actress was reportedly “blindsided” by her ex-lover’s decision to part ways. However, there is a possibility that they might put in the work in their relationship during the holidays or during Urban’s upcoming birthday, which is next month. 

Amid the possibility of working things out, it has been confirmed that the estranged couple have been living apart since “the beginning of summer.” 

As reported by The Blast, the 57-year-old singer moved out of the home he once shared with Kidman and acquired property of his own in Nashville. 

For now, Urban has been away on his High and Alive World Tour, which runs till mid-October. Meanwhile, Kidman has been holding down the fort at home and taking care of the kids in their $4 million home in Nashville. 

Before it was confirmed that the former couple were living separately, it was revealed that Kidman had been paying for a luxury home in London where she stays without her husband. 

At the time, reports suggested that Urban was never seen at Kidman’s $88,000 monthly home because of their busy schedules. 

The actress was in London filming the sequel to “Practical Magic.” However, even after filming ended, she remained in the luxury house and continued to pay $88,000 per month, sparking suspicions about the state of their marriage. 

When discussing Kidman’s living situation, an insider revealed that the two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner had simply grown comfortable living away from Urban. 

“They do make an effort to speak every day when they're apart, but it's shocking how much time they've spent apart since Nicole's mother died last September… It's like they both went their separate ways. Now she's getting comfortable in a dream home in London on the other side of the world,” the insider noted, per The Blast.

Besides Kidman’s living arrangements, another situation that raised eyebrows on the state of her marriage was her application for Portuguese residency.

It was reported that she had applied for residency. However, her husband’s name was noticeably omitted from the application. 

The Blast confirmed that the six-time Golden Globe Award winner applied to Portugal’s Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA).  She was also seen exiting a private jet in an undisclosed location just outside Lisbon. 

Before Kidman filed for a Portuguese residency, her husband was put on the hot seat during an appearance on Mix 102.3’s “Hayley & Max in the Morning.” 

During the show, Hayley Peterson and Max Burford grilled Urban about how he felt when watching sex scenes that featured his wife with “beautiful, younger men like Zac Efron.”  Urban, however, didn’t respond to the question. 

It was later revealed that he disconnected from the Zoom call when he heard the question. When Peterson spoke about the incident, she noted that it wasn’t particularly surprising because Urban “doesn’t like talking about his wife.”
