The "Sister Wives" star spoke about life as a divorced woman who spent a chunk of her years in a polygamous marriage with Kody Brown and three other sister wives.

The TLC star explained her perspective on how to make polygamy go away in a confessional on Sunday. Janelle's genius plan centered on making the arrangement legal and granting wives valid claims over their husbands' assets upon marriage.

Janelle argued that this option is a practical approach to reducing the number of people who engage in plural marriages, rather than incarcerating them. According to her: "Just make it about the financial. No one's going to give part of their estate to four or five wives. It's just not going to happen."

Janelle explained that what inspired her to consider a spiritual divorce from Kody after years of thinking it was not an option was when Meri got one, and then she helped her figure out the rest.

Meri and Kody had been legally separated since 2014, when the Brown family patriarch married Robyn Brown, his fourth and only remaining wife. However, Meri and Kody stayed in a spiritual marriage until they eventually parted ways for good in 2023.

As reported by US Magazine, the TLC star confessed that when she initially married Kody, it felt like the right thing to do at the time. As time went on, she felt the distance between her and Kody getting wider, and she knew it was time to leave the marriage.

Last year, Janelle and Meri came after Kody hard for his claims about their marriage to him, claiming that both of them had lost interest in the marriage by the time it ended.

The Blast reported that Janelle refuted her ex-husband's narratives, stating that he never truly loved his three wives who left him. Janelle claimed her ex-husband failed to take responsibility for his role in the extinction of their marriage.

"I just think that he has amnesia when it comes to the past because you just can't keep up that kind of pretense for 20 years," Janelle explained, affirming that she does not care about anything Kody says anymore.

Meri also added to the criticism, trashing Kody's statement about not loving them and urged him to man up for once in his life. Despite her willingness to make her marriage to Kody work, Meri noted that the relationship had become toxic for both of them, making it necessary to end it.

Janelle Brown Made A Big Real Estate Decision Last July

The 56-year-old finally picked up the pieces of her life last year and moved to North Carolina to permanently live close to her daughter, Madison Brown, and start an agricultural project together. The Blast reported that Madison relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, in 2021, along with her husband and children.

Janelle demonstrated her commitment to the process by purchasing a $289,000 property in North Carolina that covers 156 acres. The reality star's expansive plot was reportedly less than a 30-minute drive from her daughter's home, giving her a chance to be closer to the family.

Janelle's purchase comes after she reportedly encountered several loopholes with her ex-husband over the sale of her stake in the Coyote Pass property.

The mother of six expressed her doubts about Kody's true intentions regarding the sale and, most importantly, ensuring she receives full payment for the execution.

Janelle's Late Son Will Be A Primary Part Of Her North Carolina Farm

The 56-year-old explained to her former sister-in-law, Christine, and her new husband, David Woolley, during a visit that her late son, Garrison Brown, will have his memory honored on the property.

Janelle and her daughter revealed their plans to name a road after Garrison's nickname as work on the farm continues. In the plan shown to Christine by Maddison, one of the roads would be known as the "Bob Blvd."

They will also dedicate a part of their flower garden to Garrison, known as "Uncle Bob," after his first name, Robert. Madison explained that the quiet flower garden would be dedicated to people who struggle with mental health and have lost their battle, just like Garrison.

Janelle emphasized that it was the perfect way to eulogize her son by letting him be part of a dream she has carried since childhood: owning a farm and living the rural life.

Janelle Brown's Painful Memory About Garrison Brown's Last Moments

The entrepreneur reflected on her son's death one year later in an Instagram post with a touching tribute and an affirmation that the 25-year-old would always remain on her mind.

Janelle urged everyone battling with one form of mental health crisis or another also to seek professional and medical help to provide a timely solution.

Recall that Janelle's son reportedly died from a gunshot wound to the head after he stopped replying to his mother's text late in the night. The 25-year-old battled addiction to alcohol, which necessitated Janelle's resolve always to keep him close.

However, by the time the TV personality expressed her distress at Garrison's silence and called for a checkup, he had already taken his own life. In her romantic life, Janelle has also laid to rest the possibility of walking down the aisle with any other man.

While she remains open to exploring love and dating again in the near future, the idea of exchanging vows with anyone is entirely off the table.
