Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, is turning to faith in the wake of tragedy. Charlie was shot and killed on September 10 while speaking outside Utah Valley University, a shocking assassination that sent ripples through political and faith communities nationwide. His memorial service, held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, drew nearly 100,000 attendees, a testament to his influence and reach. Now, weeks later, Erika Kirk has shared a simple but striking message on X (formerly Twitter) that has gone viral, earning over 300,000 likes and sparking conversations about faith, grief, and resilience.
Erika Kirk’s 'Go To Church' Post Sparks Powerful Online Reactions

On September 28, Erika posted just three words: “Go to church.” The short but powerful statement immediately resonated with her late husband’s supporters, faith leaders, and even those outside the church. Many saw it as both a personal reflection of her grief and an invitation for others to find strength and healing through faith.
One user responded, “Pastor spoke about your husband today and God’s movement on the Earth. He will turn mourning into dancing. As a widow, I understand your pain but also rejoice in the fact that both of our husbands are with Jesus and we will see them again.”
Another response came from UK pastor Rich Rycroft, who credited Erika’s message, and her late husband’s legacy, with inspiring him to be more vocal about his faith. He explained that his new online ministry had already brought people into church, writing, “Even in the UK Charlie reached and inspired many and we are challenged and inspired. God bless you and your family.”
Others described her words as “powerful," noting how the simple directive touched thousands grappling with grief, faith, and uncertainty.
Inspiring New Churchgoers

Beyond longtime churchgoers, Kirk’s post also motivated those who had not attended a service in decades. “This morning, I got showered, got dressed, and am waiting to go to a church down the street. I am an agnostic who hasn’t stepped into a church voluntarily for decades. I’m Jesus-curious,” one person admitted.
Another user shared an image inside a chapel with the caption, “3rd week in a row, for Charlie,” demonstrating how Kirk’s message and her husband’s passing are inspiring consistent church attendance among supporters.
Erika Kirk’s Message Of Forgiveness At Charlie’s Memorial

At her husband’s memorial service, Erika Kirk delivered an emotional tribute that moved the nearly 100,000 mourners gathered at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Speaking directly about Charlie’s accused killer, Tyler Robinson, she emphasized her husband’s mission and her own faith in the face of tragedy.
“My husband, Charlie, wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life,” Erika said, before quoting scripture. “‘On the cross, our savior said, Father, forgive them, for they not know what they do. That man. That young man. I forgive him.”
Her words not only reflected Charlie's message but also Erika’s deep commitment to carrying forward his legacy through forgiveness rather than hate. Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting the Turning Point USA founder earlier this month during a speech at Utah Valley University, is currently facing charges connected to the killing.
Kirk Steps Into Leadership Of Turning Point USA

Beyond her personal reflections, Erika Kirk is also taking on her husband’s professional legacy. The faith-based entrepreneur, who has long encouraged women to prioritize family and faith over career ambition, will now officially lead Turning Point USA.
On Thursday, the group announced that its board had unanimously elected Erika as CEO and board chair. According to COO Tyler Bowyer, the decision honored Charlie’s explicit wishes. “This was what Charlie hoped for and wanted and he said so numerous times,” Bowyer wrote on X. “Erika is one with Charlie and Charlie is one with Erika.”
Erika had already hinted at this possibility in a tearful speech just two days after Charlie’s assassination on September 10 at Utah Valley University. At that time, she pledged to carry forward the work closest to his heart, vowing to continue Turning Point’s campus tours, its annual AmericaFest conference, and the radio show and podcast “that [Charlie Kirk] was so proud of.”
Erika Kirk Talks Faith In Grief

For many, Erika Kirk’s words struck a chord because of their timing. In the weeks since her husband’s death, she has used her platform to encourage others to turn toward faith during times of mourning. While reactions have been mixed across social media, the dominant response has been one of admiration, with users calling her message bold, inspiring, and profoundly moving.
As one follower summed it up simply, “Powerful.”
