The shocking downfall of former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot has dominated headlines for months, ever since a viral Coldplay concert video sparked allegations of an affair. Back in July, the scandal erupted when Coldplay frontman Chris Martin appeared to accidentally expose Byron and Cabot on the jumbotron, showing the two wrapped in each other’s arms at a concert. The footage went viral overnight, fueling speculation of an extramarital affair and igniting a social media firestorm. Both executives were ousted from Astronomer shortly after, with the clip reshaping conversations about workplace boundaries, corporate ethics, and how personal behavior can spill into professional consequences. Now, "Shark Tank" star Barbara Corcoran is weighing in, calling out the harsh public scrutiny that followed the scandal.

On Friday’s episode of "The View," Corcoran didn’t mince words when asked about the controversy. “I think we’re so used to seeing the big guys get away with everything,” she said. “Everybody was waiting to catch a big guy doing something wrong and so, now he’s punished for it.”

But while acknowledging Byron’s fall from grace, Corcoran pushed back against the internet pile-on. “I think the social shaming of it is just terrible. Families and the kids are involved,” she explained. “And now they’re claiming they weren’t having an affair. I don’t know if you buy it, I don’t buy it, but that’s what they say.”

Corcoran was referring to a source who recently told PEOPLE that Byron and Cabot’s relationship was not romantic. “Kristin and Andy had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” the insider claimed. “It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it. But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job, all of that is unfair.”

The source also slammed the way Cabot has been portrayed online. “It is important to note how inappropriately mislabeled Kristin has been as a homewrecker. It’s unfathomable to witness what has happened and how devastating it can be for not just individuals but entire families. All I can think of is that this could happen to any of us at any time. I think all of the misinformation has been the most mind-blowing to witness.”

The fallout from the Coldplay kiss cam moment continues to unravel behind the scenes. As The Blast previously reported, Kristin Cabot officially filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, on August 13, less than a month after the viral video with her boss, Andy Byron, exploded online. Kristin, a former HR executive at Astronomer, submitted the petition in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, signaling the official end of their marriage.

Andrew’s ex-wife, Julia, spoke to the outlet about his reaction to the scandal. “I texted Andrew right after it happened, and he said: ‘Her life has nothing to do with me,’ and said they were separating,” she claimed.

Julia also suggested the marriage had been crumbling long before the Coldplay incident. While Andrew appeared unfazed by the global ridicule his wife faced, she noted his focus seemed to remain on finances. “He’s saying it has nothing to do with him, even though they were married and shared a house. But then, the only thing he cares about is money,” Julia added.

As The Blast previously reported, the viral Coldplay kiss cam clip was only the beginning of Andy Byron’s troubles. Back in July, Bop House creator Camilla Araujo stepped into the spotlight with explosive allegations, claiming the former Astronomer CEO spent “over $250,000” on subscriptions, custom content, and video calls with multiple OnlyFans creators.

According to Araujo, Byron’s spending habits weren’t limited to Sophie Rain, the creator first linked to him in leaked DMs. Instead, she alleges he dropped hundreds of thousands across several women, many of whom were affiliated with her influencer mansion, the Bop House.

The scandal ultimately proved too much for Andy Byron’s leadership to withstand. In July 2025, Astronomer’s Board of Directors formally accepted his resignation, citing his failure to uphold the company’s standards of conduct and accountability.

Byron’s exit marked the end of a turbulent tenure that saw both his professional and personal life thrust into the public spotlight. In the wake of his departure, Astronomer co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy has stepped in as interim CEO, tasked with steadying the company’s direction as it works to move past the controversy.
