Tim Allen has been able to put his sentiments towards his father's killer behind him, and it's all thanks to Erika Kirk's touching words of compassion to her husband's killer.
On September 10, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while delivering a speech, a shocking incident that sent waves of grief across the nation.
At his memorial service, his wife Erika delivered a deeply moving speech, speaking not only of her profound love and loss but also of forgiveness. Now, the "Big Trouble" star has shared what her words helped him achieve.
Tim Allen Says He Followed Erika Kirk's Path Of Forgiveness

Days after Kirk's memorial service, the "Toy Story" alum took to his X account to share how Erika set an example for him to embrace forgiveness.
"When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: 'That man... that young man... I forgive him,'" Allen shared on his X account.
He continued, "That moment deeply affected me. I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: 'I forgive the man who killed my father.'"
Allen concluded his message by preaching, "Peace be with you all."
How Losing His Father Shaped Tim Allen's Life

The "Home Improvement" star has been vocal about how he felt after he lost his father in a tragic car accident caused by a drunk driver when he was only 11 years old in November 1964.
During an interview in 2011, he revealed that his dad's demise left a lasting impact on him, even affecting his faith, as he had a "curious relationship with God."
According to Allen, he wondered if things might have turned out differently had he prayed more or been present with his dad. Because of those doubts, he admitted he carried resentment toward the idea of God and the church. Still, he continued attending services, though with a sceptical, questioning attitude.
However, Allen's perspective shifted as he came to believe that his existence and life events were not merely a matter of random chance.
Erika Kirk Speaks Out on Death Penalty for Her Husband's Alleged Killer

While Allen found inspiration in Erika's words, Erika herself made it clear that her compassion extends even further as she wants no part in deciding whether her husband's accused killer, Tyler Robinson, receives the death penalty.
Robinson has been officially charged with aggravated murder in connection with the September 10 shooting of Charlie Kirk, and prosecutors have confirmed they will seek the death penalty.
When asked if she hoped to see Robinson executed, the mom of two said the decision does not belong to her. "I told our lawyer, I want the government to decide this," she explained, according to The Blast.
She continued, "I do not want that man's blood on my ledger. Because when I get to heaven, and Jesus is like: 'Uh, eye for an eye? Is that how we do it?'... I don't want that to keep me from being with Charlie."
Erika Kirk Recalled the Moment She Learned of Her Husband's Shooting

The 36-year-old also recounted the heartbreaking moment she learned of his shooting. Erika disclosed that she had originally planned to travel with him but stayed behind to support her mother during medical treatment.
Later that morning, she received a call from Charlie's assistant telling her he had been shot, and in that instant, she knew life would never be the same. She quickly boarded one of Charlie's chartered planes to get to Utah, but while in the air, she learned he had already died.
Looking out at the clouds and mountains, she found herself imagining that those same views were likely the last things her husband had seen before he passed.
Amanda Kloots Extended Support to Erika Kirk Amid Her Grief

As the CEO of Turning Point USA mourns the devastating loss of her partner, she is not walking through grief alone.
The Blast reported that Amanda Kloots, who has publicly shared her own journey of loss, reached out with words of comfort and encouragement.
On an episode of her "We're Out of Time" podcast, Kloots recalled the advice her late mother-in-law once gave her: that her son, Elvis, would be her reason to keep going.
Kloots said she would share the same encouragement with Erika, reminding her that her children, like her, have a purpose and will help guide her forward.
