Just in reading the information on the project it looked like it was going to be a documentary feature. Netflix has done a ton of those where they explore the "cultural impact" of this or that. That's not going to be the case though. The project is said to be a comedy feature already titled Unfrosted.

Not much information has been released in the project. From the looks of things, this could be Jerry Sinfield's take on Dave Chapelle's "Half Baked" except with the characters being on a sugar rush and not stoned.

In a part of the bit, he mentions,

“I was in the supermarket with my mother and I was like, ‘Hold up, hold up — what the hell is that?!?’ ”

The bit has been widely successful with fans. So much so, that here we are!

Even though the Pop-Tart bit is a fan favorite of Seinfeld comedy fans to go from that to a full film seems like a bit of a stretch. There has to be another reason why this movie is potentially getting the green light. We don't have to look very far to find that answer. Seinfeld signed what at the time was reported to be a 100 million dollar deal with Netflix in 2017.

Jerry has a highly successful web series titled "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee". A show that he also has shifted to Netflix since signing a deal with the streaming service. He continues to do stand-up shows from time to time as well.

This new project seems to be the only thing on the horizon for Seinfeld. At least when it comes to large-scale projects. Jerry's in a very comfortable situation where Seinfeld the show still makes him a lot of money. So he picks and chose projects that he's interested in more diligently.
