Jennifer Lopez Reportedly 'Spending A Lot Of Money' To Make Her Hidden Hills Mega-Mansion 'Lush'

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly doing some major renovations to her 10,046-square-foot Hidden Hills estate. The gated property offers luxury amenities and a safe environment for her twins, Max and Emme.

Meanwhile, the actress and her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, have relisted their Bel Air mansion for $52 million after disagreements over its style and location.

Despite their split, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly remain amicable, prioritizing a supportive and blended family dynamic for their children.

Lopez is currently overseeing renovations on her sprawling estate in Hidden Hills, California, which she purchased in February for $21 million.

The 10,046-square-foot property sits on 2.5 acres and features a main house, guest house, pool house, barn, stables, a riding arena, and a pool. Luxury amenities include a private theater, chef's kitchen, and a fully equipped gym.

Recent photos obtained by the Daily Mail show significant updates, including the addition of another room on the second floor, signaling that the "Kiss of the Spider Woman" star is focused on expanding and customizing the property.

A source revealed, "Jennifer wants the home to be exactly as she likes it. She has a specific vision for the place, and she wants it redone to perfection. She has been inspired by her latest movie, 'Kiss Of The Spider Woman,' and wants the pad to be lush, dramatic, fun."

Renovations were first photographed in June, with an insider noting that Lopez is investing heavily to transform the estate.

"She is spending a lot of money because it's big: there is the main house, the pool house, and a guest house," the insider said.

But splurging on upgrades is nothing new for the "Unstoppable" actress.

"Jennifer renovates every home she moves into because she wants a certain look, the JLo touch, which makes the place her very own," the source explained. "She has great style, so she makes everything better. And she had very specific ideas for this place. Jennifer wants it light, bright, and flirty."

Lopez's Hidden Hills estate marks a fresh chapter in her life as a single woman following her split from Affleck.

The property is situated about an hour from Affleck's Brentwood home, near his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. According to the Daily Mail, Lopez chose the property for peace of mind.

"Jennifer wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and have a more relaxed home life in Hidden Hills," a source said. "It has nothing to do with getting away from Ben and his family and Jennifer and their kids. She is OK with them. It is about being in a more relaxed environment."

Security was also a key factor in her decision, as the insider noted that Lopez's new home is in a gated community that is "extremely safe" thanks to its security personnel and "cameras everywhere."

"This way she doesn't have to worry if Max rides his bicycle down a street or if Emme goes for a walk with a friend," the source added.

This renovation news comes shortly after Lopez reduced the asking price on her former Bel Air mansion, the home she once shared with ex Ben Affleck. The former couple has relisted the property for $52 million, a $16 million drop from its original $68 million listing in July 2024.

The lavish property features a 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom main house, a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a two-bedroom guardhouse, a caretaker's house, and a 12-car garage. Its amenities include a home bar, gym, sports lounge, boxing ring, basketball and pickleball courts, and parking for up to 80 vehicles.

A source told People Magazine that Lopez and Affleck were not fully aligned when they bought the mansion.

"The $68 million estate was Ben's idea and a major compromise for her," the insider explained, noting that its expansive layout suited their blended family.

However, Lopez reportedly favored a more romantic, European-inspired style, while Affleck found the home's location inconvenient for his Brentwood-based life and children.

However, despite going their separate ways, Affleck and Lopez remain on good terms, particularly when it comes to their blended family.

"Things between Ben and Jennifer are good," an Affleck source told People. "Even though they're not together anymore, they've stayed on friendly terms."

The same warmth extends to their children. Affleck, 53, shares Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 53, while Lopez and ex Marc Anthony, 56, are parents to 17-year-old twins Max and Emme.

"The kids are still really close," the insider said. "They have the same groups of friends, they see each other, and they talk all the time. They make sure the kids know they get along. The most important thing to both of them is raising their kids in a supportive environment, so they plan to stay in each other's lives."
